Changing email application in Quickbooks for Mac

Try Apple mail>preferences>general>default email reader.

1. Go to the Apple Mail option. 
2. Choose Preferences. 
3. From the Preferences pane, click General. 
4. Confirm if what your default email account is.

I verified that I changed the default email application (in Apple Mail) and it's set to MailMate.

The Little Square link didn't help much.
