If a contractor forgot their sign-in credentials for accessing their account to view their 1099 form, they can follow these steps to reset their user ID or password:

1. Visit our sign-in help page.
2. Enter the phone number, email address, or user ID associated with your contractor's account.
3. Depending on the information provided by your contractor, we'll send you a text or an email with a verification code. If they choose to enter their user ID, they can select their preferred method to receive the code.
4. Use the verification code sent to your contractor or follow the instructions in the message. If necessary, we'll ask for more information to verify their identity.
5. When prompted, reset the password or select Skip.

However, if they forgot their email address, phone number, or user ID associated with the contractor's account, they can directly go to the QuickBooks Self Employed (QBSE) sign-in page, click the Try something else, then scroll to the I lost access to my phone or email address section.

Once they regain access to their account, they can proceed to change or view their email address, phone number, and password from their profile located beside the Gear icon. It's also a great idea to add your phone number to help you receive verification codes from us for future sign-in attempts.

To begin with, if your contractor doesn't have their login information, they can use the email address to which they were invited.

You can find and check your contractor's email address associated with their sign-in information within the Expense menu.

Here's how you can do it:

1. Navigate to the Expense menu and click Contractors.
2. In the Find a contractor drop-down, look for the specific contractor.
      
   
3. Lastly, you’ll see their email address under their Personal details, associated with their login. You can then have them use this email for their login.

Alternatively, you can download your contractors' 1099s as a PDF file and email them directly.
