@woods9898

Which year version do you have? They have released patches for QBD 2021-2023. As I know, no outstanding issue.

of course.  2019 is my version

QBD 2019 is outdated. I'm not sure they'll offer any more patches. You can use the trial version of QB Desktop 2021 for good if needed to open your company file on Sonoma or purchase a new license for QB Desktop 2024 Mac Plus.

Apparently they have removed my post on virtualization of the macOS.  Since this doesn't violate any of Intuits rules (and IMO nothing of Apple) this is a pure power move on Intuit's part.  visualization of Ventura for QB 2019 (and presumably QB 2020 ) works fine.  We'll se if this goes away too.

I have QB 2020 for Mac, most of the thread is about 2019 version but 2020 also does not seem to work.  Reading here 2021 version is last version that works without a subscription.  A new subscription is $90/mo so over $1K/year.

Any way to get the 2021 version?

I, too, cannot access invoicing once I select Creat an Invoice from the drop-down menu. Just install iOS Sonoma this morning. Now what? I can't login to get my name on a list so they notify me when it's been resolved since the system keeps crashing!?

I'm confused @AileneA

It sounds like you're talking @psk that they can still buy Mac 2021 version.

If not, the whole post isn't relevant to them.  If you can, how?

Yes but I have the 2020 version that is no longer supported, any way to purchase the 2021 version?  Doubt I can just download the 2021 version and it work?

Let's ensure this is sorted out, everyone.

Regarding your concern, tjsmags. Our engineers are still working to get this fix about the QuickBooks crashing issues after updating to Sonoma. We assure you that we are taking all necessary steps to get this rectified as soon as possible. Once resolved, you'll receive status updates through email or SMS.

For the QBDT for the Mac 2021 version, you're correct that it is still available and you can download it because it's still an available and supported product. This also means you will continue receiving critical security updates protecting your data.

Additionally, we're still receiving reports from customers who have not yet received the new patches and are still facing the same issue. I recognize the urgency of resolving this matter and assure you that our dedicated Product Engineers are working diligently to isolate and address the problem as quickly as possible.

Currently, we're working on compatibility patches for all of the supported versions of QuickBooks for Mac. We have to wait for Apple to release the final version to the public before we can officially test the software. We hope to have this done within 1-2 weeks from the time the new operating system is released. QuickBooks Mac Plus 2022 and 2023 along with QuickBooks for Mac 2021 should have their patches as soon as possible.

If in case some of you here are not yet included in the list of affected users, I suggest contacting our Customer Care Team. Here's how:

  1. Select QuickBooks Help from the Help menu.

Hi, Intuit people!

I'm just here to reiterate that I have owned—not rented, owned—QuickBooks for over 20 years and the day you told me I had to pay you ransom to update it was the same day I informed your representative that you'd never see another dime of my money.

I don't expect you to fix this issue, as that would be above you. I just don't want you to expect to see another dime of my money.

@RobIss215 @psk @MCAPro

You will be blessed if you can find QBD 2021 license at this time. We've been trying to do that since the beginning of the year. You can use the trial version of QBD 2021 to open your files up to 15 times. Then you need a workaround to reset the counter back to 15 times.

@MMMikey

Which QB Desktop year version do you have? If you were using QBD 2019 or QBD 2020, you can use the workaround as I mentioned earlier.

You think you’re also entitled to free maintenance for the car you own and house you own? Unreal. No one promised you free maintenance forever. Complain if you’re on a supported version.

It's a four year old program. It should still be supported.

Apple today released macOS Sonoma 14.1 Beta 3 -- has anyone installed it yet to see if it fixes the Quickbooks 2019 Mac crashing issue??

If I do try the 2021 download and the 15 free logins in the trial period, will the work I do translate back down to the 2020 version if that starts working again since I cant use the 2021 version for long?

Dont really want to do the trial if it locks me in to the newer version that I cannot get.

I have a few rental properties and I have used QB for 15+years.  I also have used Quicken for probably longer for my personal bank accounts.  I had 6 rentals (now only 4) and QB allowed me to allocate costs to the individual property which made tax prep simple.  Quicken cant really do that so I used QB happily over this time bc although expensive (think it used to be about $500)  I could buy the software and use it for 4-5 years.  Thats not a bad deal for someone who doesnt run a big business w/ QB.  But $1k/year isnt doable for a business I probably make less than $20K/year.  I dont use any of the online downloads, bill pay, etc.  Just enter my charges manually like I have done forever.  My bank charged $15/mo to hookup to QB years ago and again wasnt worth it to me bc I have probably 10 xctns/mo.

Earlier in the thread I saw some alternatives to QB, may have to try those if this doesnt get resolved to get this years tax reporting done and probably start fresh in 2024.
