Join nowUsing Quickbooks 2021 Desktop in a server - workstation configuration. Windows 10. Doing end of year tax stuff and I went to do a backup and it suggested running a rebuild. So that has been running now for a couple of hours and I have not seen any green bar progress. QB support is closed today. Is there something else I could try or should I keep waiting, reboot QB??
Hi docwagner324!
Allow me to help you in running the rebuild tool in QuickBooks Desktop.
The Verify and Rebuild Data tool in QuickBooks Desktop allows you to scan your company file and fix any issue. It may take some time to scan your data depending on your company file size.
You'll want to install and run the QuickBooks File Doctor. This is another tool that also resolves errors in using the software.
Also, you'll want to update your QuickBooks Desktop. This is to ensure that you installed the latest fixes and patches.
Lastly, I added this article if you need a detailed steps in reconciling your accounts: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Desktop.
Post a comment below if you need more help with this. Thanks!
AlexV, thank you for the reply. The problem has been resolved. I had tried the steps you suggested, but what I needed to do was do an OS update. The server was behind on these updates and when I completed those the QB 2021 was able to complete the backup and I got my tax issues done as well. I did encounter an error when I tried to update QB 2021 to 2022, but that is another thread.
Again thanks for your help.
Pete
