Do i need to file a 1099 for myself as a sole proprietor?

Your clients would need to issue you a 1099 if they paid you over $600 by way of cash/checking.  If by credit card you would not receive by your client, but rather the merchant company.

Hope this helps.

Do i need to file a 1099 for myself as a sole proprietor?

Hello, @sshine2014.

Let me share some information about filing a 1099 form.

If you are a sole proprietor, you may be relieved to know that issuing a 1099 form to yourself is not necessary. A 1099 is typically used to report income paid to non-employees, such as freelancers or independent contractors, and is usually issued by businesses that have spent $600 or more to the non-employee during the tax year. This can help you better understand your tax obligations and ensure you comply with IRS regulations.

For future help, Kindly refer to this article for further guidelines and information in preparing your 1099 here in QBO: Create and file 1099s with QuickBooks Online.
