Email Error - unable to send invoices to Outlook?

I was able to use this function fine yesterday, Quickbooks updated today - now I can't send emails to Outlook - unless Outlook is closed (not running in the background)?  Does anyone have a fix or is there a way to roll back the update?  Tried the settings and running in administrator mode.....

Email Error - unable to send invoices to Outlook?

Hi there, @sgdpc.

I'm here to provide details about being unable to send invoices via Outlook in QuickBooks Desktop.

At this time, we have an ongoing issue wherein customers can't send invoices through Outlook in QuickBooks Desktop. Our engineers are now investigating to identify the root cause of this matter, so they can apply a permanent resolution.

To be notified of the recent status of this hurdle, I suggest contacting our Customer Care Team. They can add you to the list of the affected users and be able to receive an email once any updates about this issue are made available.

For now, you may set up and utilize a Webmail and send your invoices from there to get your work done.

To do that:

  1. Click on Edit at the top menu bar.
  2. Select on Preferences.
  3. Press on Send Forms.
  4. Choose Web Mail and Add.
  5. Fill out the Add Email Info and hit on OK.
  6. Tap on OK to save your changes.

To give you more details about this process, you can refer to this link: Connect your email to QuickBooks Desktop.

In addition, here's an article about fixing error messages when sending forms in the system in case you need it in the future: How to fix "Error: QuickBooks is unable to send your email to Outlook".

Your patience and understanding in this situation are much appreciated.

If there's anything else that I can assist you with, let me know. I'm always here to address them for you. Have a lovely day!

Email Error - unable to send invoices to Outlook?

I am losing my patience.  This should not be this hard.  I have had the license since Dec 2020.

Email Error - unable to send invoices to Outlook?

Thanks for joining this thread, Win10 with Fusion.

Currently, there's an ongoing investigation where subscribers are reporting that they're not able to send invoices through Outlook. Our Product Investigations team's aware of this and is presently working on a solution to it.

In the meantime, there's a couple things you can try. Initially, I'd recommend confirming that Outlook's closed while you're trying to send invoices. If you continue encountering problems while all Outlook windows are closed, you'll want to try running both QuickBooks and Outlook as an admin. This can be done by right-clicking their app icons and selecting Run as administrator.

In the event you're still unable to send invoices through Outlook after performing these steps, you'll need to set up and use Webmail for the time being. You can find detailed steps for setting this up in BettyJaneB's post.

I'd additionally recommend contacting our Customer Care team and referencing INV-0671. They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment and add you to the list of affected users.

They can be reached while using QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. In your top menu bar, go to Help, then QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  2. Choose Contact Us.
  3. Enter a brief description of the issue in our Ask a question (or tell us what's wrong) field.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Select We’ll contact you for a callback or Message Us to start an instant messaging session.

Be sure to review their support hours so you'll know when agents are available.

Please don't hesitate to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have an awesome day!
