I've tried this and so has my employer and we can't trace where the error comes from. i keep getting the same error on the new invitation to create my account.

Since you're receiving the same error on the new invitation when creating your account, I suggest contacting our Workforce Support team to help resolve this unusual behavior. Also, they have the tools to review and investigate further what's causing the error on your account. Here is the simple step summary of how to get it to work, and then the follow up after is why this is an issue for some. I have started sending this to employees as soon as I send the invite.
Please have the employee follow the steps below if they get the "Looks like you don't have Workforce" error.
1. Go to accounts.intuit.com and select option "Create account" then enter full email and create a password.
2. Select "personal info tab" and enter full name , hit save and sign out.
3. Go back to the email invite and accept it by clicking Activate Account/Create Account/Sign In
4. Enter full email and password. If get error "User ID is already taken " click sign in below the first box.
Here's what happened.
The employee likely has an Intuit account not workforce account. Maybe they use TurboTax.
If that is so, the employee MUST use their unique username. If it does not work, create a new Intuit account.
There is a difference between Intuit account and Workforce account.
Intuit's website is -accounts.intuit.com and it has only basic information while Workforce's website is -workforce.intuit.com and it has the paystubs and W2s online. However, apparently their is a link between the two with usernames and emails.
If the 4 steps above don't work, then the employee should contact Workforce directly. Here is the link.
