Error 15271 again (and again and again and again...) WTF

How do I get past Error 15271?  I logged out and logged in as Administrator and then went to Payroll and selected Get Updates. It said I have the most recent version and to update again before 1/21/2025 (it's 1/24 today!!).  When I go to Pay employees, it still says I haven't updated in over 33 days!!!  If I try to do payroll, it does no calculations for taxes whatsoever.  This keeps happening when I need to update and because of its frequency as well as the exorbitant prices Intuit is charging to payroll processing, I may just hire a local payroll company.   How do I get this stupid thing to update?

Error 15271 again (and again and again and again...) WTF

Start by securing the latest QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) version to access the newest features and improvements. If your software is updated, close your QBDT application and follow the steps below using the QuickBooks Tool Hub:

 

  1. Download the most recent version (1.6.0.8) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub, and save the file where you can easily locate it. 
  2. Click the file you downloaded to open it (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  3. Proceed with the on-screen instructions to complete the installation and accept the terms and conditions.
  4. Once the installation is complete, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to launch the tool hub.

 

Next, run the Quick Fix My Program feature in the Tool Hub. Note that this will close any background processes currently used by QuickBooks. Then, proceed with the instructions outlined below for additional guidance:

 

  1. Choose Program Problems in the QuickBooks Tool hub,
  2. Click Quick Fix My Program.
