I’m glad to see you in the Community, Kristy79.

The Import custom form styles feature will help remove the total amount for the line items on the estimate. When using this option, avoid using any of these file types. This is to ensure you can seamlessly import the template.

  • Audio
  • ClipArt, Word Art
  • Animated GIFS
  • Embedded files
  • Adding or updating hidden links or merging fields
  • Files over 2MB
  • Non-.docx file types or older MS Word documents renamed as .docx files.

If you’re unable to create a custom form, use our sample template and map the fields from there. Click here to download it.

  1. Once it’s open, double-click the QBO EZ Map Fields and Samples folder and choose Estimate.estimate cux.png
  2. Pick your desired template from the list.
  3. Next, hit the Enable Editing button to continue.estimate cux2.png
  4. Choose the fields you wish to remove from the estimate. For example, the Total Estimate section.estimate cux1.png
  5. Make sure all fields match the EZ Map fields defined in the EZ Map catalog.
  6. Then, save the template where you can easily find it.

When you’re ready, upload the custom form into QBO. For detailed instructions, perform Steps 2-4 in the Import custom form styles for invoices or estimates guide.
By the time you’ll create an estimate, hit the Customize menu on the footer. Pick the newly created form to apply the changes made to the entry.

I’ve included an article that will guide you on how to personalize your sales forms. It contains a video tutorial for visual reference: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online
