Experiencing lag time in QB

Is anyone else experiencing a lag when working with your Online version lately? I have deleted my cookies, cashed images, and download history, and I am still experiencing a lag in the program where I have to wait at least 15 seconds to 30 seconds before the program will respond.

I've checked from our records and haven't found any ongoing issues about the problem you're having. Let's perform some steps to determine the potential cause of why QuickBooks is running slowly.


QuickBooks Online is a web-based service, it also relies on your computer or device’s processing power, the amount of available memory (RAM), and the bandwidth of your Internet connection to perform as intended. A shortfall in any area can reduce performance. 


To improve the performance of your QuickBooks Online. There are several things that you can look at to ensure you're getting the most out of your user experience:


  • Close other open programs or browser tabs that you are not currently using to speed up QuickBooks Online. Each program or tab in your browser uses your system's resources, and if too many tabs or programs are open, this can cause QuickBooks to run slowly.
  • Are you using Google Chrome? If so, ensure you are using the latest release by going to the Chrome menu and selecting Help, then About Google Chrome.
  • Ensure your operating system is up to date and you meet or exceed the System Requirements for QuickBooks Online.
  • Verify your internet speed (bandwidth) is not limiting your QuickBooks Online experience. Run a Google Speed Test to confirm your bandwidth/the speed of your connection.
  • Use QuickBooks Online with Incognito (Private Browsing) mode.

Experiencing lag time in QB

I have checked all, and no other pages I frequent have this issue, only QB Online.  I have one of the highest speeds available for our internet and pay $300+ a month for it, so I am sure it is NOT my internet provider - again, your page is the only one I am having issues with - and have been for a few weeks now.

I recommend clearing Intuit-specific cookies from your browser. Web browsers collect cookies (cache) to save time when loading repetitive data and images. Over time these files can become corrupted, causing issues like the one with your loading times. 


If clearing the Intuit-specific cookies doesn't work for you, run this tool: .


Alternatively, you can always download and use the QuickBooks Online app for Windows/Mac. It typically runs quicker than a web browser.
