How do you print the register with SPLITS displaying?

I can help you in printing your register showing those split transactions, @nmiller2.

You can generate a Transaction Detail by Account Report to show these Split transactions. Then, filter the Distribution Account to only a specific account. You can print it right after.

Let me show you how to run this report:

  1. Go to the Reports menu and look for the Transaction Detail by Account Report.
  2. Set the Report period and all the filters needed.
  3. You can click on the Gear icon on the report to include the Split on the columns.
  4. Click the Customize button and scroll down to the Filter section.
  5. Select the Distribution Account checkbox and choose the accounts that you’d like to include in this report.
  6. Click on Run report once you’re done.
  7. Once you’re done, click on the Print icon on the report.
  8. Follow the prompts to finish printing the report.

See the following article for more information on running your reports and printing them: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.

How do you print the register with SPLITS displaying?

Thanks for getting back to us, @nmiller2.

For now, the option to print split transactions through the View register is unavailable in QuickBooks Online. Although, I can provide you an alternative option you can use to get these details.

You can run the Transaction List with Split reports to show all of your split transactions, then print it to get your data. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to Reports
  2. Type Transaction List with Splits in the search bar.
  3. Change the Report period.
  4. Click on Run report.
  5. Select the Print icon.

Additionally, you can customize your reports in QBO to easily view the transactions that you needed the most.

I can see how this option would be helpful for you and your business. Therefore, let me take note of this as a suggestion to improve your QuickBooks experience.

If you need further help with printing transactions in QuickBooks, just place your concern and I'll help you out. Have a great day ahead.

How do you print the register with SPLITS displaying?

This is so frustrating....I don't have a Transaction List with Split listed under my reports (Quickbooks online) and I have spend hours searching how to get the detailed transactions listed in a report. This seems like a BASIC report request, however Quickbooks can't provide it to the customer. So now I have to go into every transaction that is split and manually extract out the details. What do we pay a monthly subscription for?!?!

Hi Angel,

It isn't the kind of experience we want you to come across. I'm here to answer your query and share information on how you can run the Transaction List with Split report.

The mentioned report is available in the QuickBooks Online Essentials, Plus, and Advanced versions. If you're not using one of those versions, you may upgrade it so you can review the transactions with split.

Here's how you can upgrade the plan:

  1. From the Gear icon, select Account and settings.
  2. Go to the Billing & subscription tab.
  3. Make sure your payment info is up to date.
  4. In the QuickBooks Online section, select Upgrade your plan.
  5. Review the available plans and then select Choose plan.
  6. Follow the onscreen steps to upgrade your plan.

I've also added these articles to know the reports that are available in your plan and how to customize the transaction reports:

Let me know if you need help in upgrading your subscription or if you have other concerns in running reports.

In QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), you can utilize the Custom Transaction Detail report to get the necessary data. Let me walk you through a seamless process:

  1. In your QBDT file, go to the Reports menu.
  2. Hover over Custom Reports, then select Transaction Detail.

  3. In the Display tab, go to the Columns section, then search and add Split. Tip: You also have the option to add more columns depending on what data you want to show on your report.

  4. Once ready, click on OK.

For detailed information, kindly visit: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

See the image below for a visual reference of the report:
