Join nowI'm interested in running cycle counts for my inventory. I have my backroom laid out by items in groups, such as all parts to one piece of equipment are all near each other. It seems I can run cycle counts by every other qualifier besides bin location. I don't want to run all over the back room, it'd be much easier to do it one bin at a time. Is this a function I can utilize?
Not that I am aware of
Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, @RKPII. I'm here to give you details about this.
In QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), you can assign a bin location to the items for the cycle count. Let me walk you through the process:
For your reference about the process, feel free to open this article: Cycle Count in Advanced Inventory. It also provides steps in resolving discrepancies and closing a cycle count.
I've also attached this helpful link for suggestions on how you might manage your inventory in various ways: Setup and use the Warehouse Manager in QuickBooks Desktop mobile.

Thanks for the reply. I've found those instructions quite a few times. I am looking for a way where I can batch add every part in a certain bin location, instead of searching for every part number in said location. As it's already tracked in QuickBooks, I don't want to have a separate list of bin locations just to do cycle counts.
Has there been an update in QB's to do this? I have multiple aisles with multiple shelves/bins and searching by item and manually adding parts is a waste of time.
Hello, JasonB17.
I understand you're looking for a search by item and automatically adding the parts to the inventory to cycle count with bin location. This way, you can track your inventory easily without going to each item. Unfortunately, this feature is not currently available in QuickBooks Desktop.
