How to get QB to stop asking me to log into my Intuit Account

Hi there, @matthewamo.

I appreciate you for getting back to us here in the Community. Allow me to chime in and provide clarification about the information provided above.

My colleague intends to make sure that the option from the Preferences window is disabled. She's currently working on updating the post to ensure the details are accurate.

If it's turned off and the problem persists, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. One of them will be able to assist you and help ensure the configuration in QuickBooks is correct.

Here's how you can reach them:

  1. Go to the Help menu of the company file, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help
  2. Hit the Contact us link.
  3. Click Search for something else.
  4. Enter the necessary informationthen tap Search.
  5. Click on Start a Message.

You can also check the articles for more details about the features available to make the program more accessible to every person: Accessibility features in QuickBooks.

Fill me in if you have additional questions about the integrated apps with QuickBooks Desktop. I'm always here to help. Take care always.

How to get QB to stop asking me to log into my Intuit Account

Calling in and speaking with support wont solve anything. The issue is the second login prompt and not being able to disable. When third party software integrates they use a login to quickbooks. They have not had to incorporate a second login into the intuit account. So the software freezes.

Your expectation is every software that integrates with quickbooks now has to re write their programs??

Most support people just look a reference document and if there is not anything then they dont know.

You cant push a update like this and call it for security when you can bypass it so easily with alt f4. Or say I'm not an admin.

No point other than yall tracking for whatever reason.

At very least desktop version should be exempt from such things.

I kept clickig the remind me in 7 days because I don't need payroll and the other applications for QB.  Now it says my 28 days reminder is over.  Sign in to your Intuit account now and can't use the Quickbooks apps I need. What now? I need this to go away permanently. Thank you

Thank you for joining the thread, Admin1998.

First, we need to ensure you're using up to date QuickBooks desktop version . Then, Let's run the Verify and Rebuild Data Utility tool to isolate this unusual behavior for possible data damage.

Rebuild Data:

  1. Go to the File menu.
  2. Choose Utilities, then select Rebuild Data.
  3. Select OK on the QuickBooks Information window.
  4. Follow the prompt to save a backup.
  5. When you see Rebuild has completed, click OK

Verify Data:

  1. Go to the File menu.
  2. Choose Utilities, then select Verify Data.
  3. If you see QuickBooks detected no problem with your data, click OK. You can continue using the company file.
  4. If Verify finds an issue with your data, you’ll be prompted to Rebuild Now or View Errors.
  5. Select Close.

Let's make sure you refresh your system to ensure that all QuickBooks components are fixed. For more detailed information about verify rebuild feature, you can refer to this article: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.

If the same thing happens, I recommend reaching out to our customer support team. This way, we'll be able to pull up your account in a secure session and look over the underlying issue and help you get back to business in no time.

I'm just a post away if you need further assistance. Have a great day, and stay safe!

How to get QB to stop asking me to log into my Intuit Account

Are all the Intuit QuickBooks tech support technicians in a competition for who can post the most stupid useless recommendations that don't solve anything and don't even address the subject at all?

Not one of you technicians, not one, that work for intuit and made these useless and ridiculous posts should have a job.  Obviously none of you can read, interpret and understand the posted issue in this thread. It's pathetic and ridiculous.

You're lucky that you work for a company that has so much money that they continue to pay your salary without holding you responsible for posting useless information and not addressing the exact specific issue and numerous complaints that were posted.

How about a new strategy? Don't post an answer that is completely useless and doesn't even match the subject matter or address the concerns or the needs of the people who are aggravated with the software. If you do decide to make post just say that Intuits leadership along with our programmers have created this problem and have infuriated all the customers that use QuickBooks desktop and they're very unhappy and we're sorry we can't fix it. The matter is out of our control.

At least this way their would finally be some truthful factual and accurate information posted.

How to get QB to stop asking me to log into my Intuit Account

Hi Admin1998, I am a QB desktop user like you, spent 6 hours trying to stop this madness, then finally stumbled on the simple solution from another user.  I used, it works.

Solution to close Intuit Account window without logging on:

Alt-F4 combination, the click Cancel

Regular QB home should appear, now click tabs to prevent the problem from coming back:

- EDIT

- go to bottom tab for PREFERENCES

- window opens, middle of list click INTEGRATED APPLICATIONS

- click COMPANY PREFERENCES

- click box DON'T ALLOW ANY APPLICATIONS TO ACCESS THIS COMPANY FILE

Close and you are done.  I saved a back up at this point, exited QB, then restarted.  If you have more than one company in your QB desktop program, I suggest you execute this for all your companies.   This closes down the annoying login Intuit keeps throwing at us as documented in this discussion.  They are afraid to give you the simple solution because they want to control customers data and force us into more Intuit products.  They don't get it, if we find QB annoying and are getting pushed around, we will go elsewhere.   BTW, I have used QB desktop for +20 years, won't get to 21 years if this keeps up.

I am so hoping that you actually got a legit answer to your question. I'm having the exact same problem AND

QB decided I needed an online QB account, which I DO NOT WANT. Solving this problem is costing me quite a bit of time and money.

So very frustrating.

Me too! QB has become to tedious for me and I typically end up being extremely angry with it by the time I can finally use it on my desktop computer. I've used QB for over 20 years, but right now I'm ready for a massive change.

How to get QB to stop asking me to log into my Intuit Account

Every time I log into my desktop computer QB account (which I really do not like doing), I have to go through three screens. One of those screens is to update my payroll program. I do not do payroll on QB and I have that feature turned off in Preferences. I know they know I don't use payroll, but I still need to go through this rigger-ma-roll to get to the actual QB program that I need.

Thanks - Trying that - although the bruises on my forehead from banging it on my keyboard will take a long time to heal this might fix something!
My family has a few different "Company" files that I manage. have been doing so for years and suddenly this invasive behavior after PAYING for NEW DESKTOP because I could not move my old Quickbooks to a windows 10 machine.

I'm the assistant treasurer of a camping group. We moved our accounting from Excel spreadsheets to this program and few months ago.

I recently started getting these nag screens to sign into our Intuit account. We have none that I'm aware of!

I spoke with the treasurer, who installed this program and he said he is unaware of any online account.

I too tried this an it didn't work. Nag screen reappeared after 7 days.

Tried all of the suggestions on here, tried to resolve through help and chat. Get the same old response that this is for your own security and good.

Well if I don't use the online services and use this as a stand-alone program then I shouldn't sign in online and open the door to our accounts.

I too will request that we dump this "intrusive" program and find another if a fix doesn't occur.

I think it is ridiculous to require every QB Desktop user to have an online account.  We don't use any intuit services besides QuickBooks desktop and I don't want to manage a bunch extra online accounts just for QuickBooks.  This "feature" needs to at least have the ability to be disabled.  I think it is silly to force everyone that uses a company file (not just the admin user) to create some random online account that then has to be managed separately.  We have already registered our application with the license servers, that should be all we need to do.  We have desktop specifically for the purpose of not being online with our accounting data.  This needs to be immediately fixed.

YES, YES, YES!  It keeps wanting me to sign in using the old bookkeepers address.  Won't acknowledge mine.  So sick of this!  Fix your system.

I can provide additional information with creating an Intuit Account, @Sick of this.

Creating an Intuit account is a part of the security features within QuickBooks. You’ll be prompt for an Intuit Account ID every time you create a new company file, add a user, sign in to My Company, or while accessing Intuit User Account Management. You can check our QuickBooks Blog post about the benefits and added security your Intuit account provides you and your products.

I can see the importance of having this as optional especially if you don’t use any of intuit services, so I’ll take note of this.

You may need to update the email address associated with your account for it to acknowledge your own email. You can follow the steps below:

  1. Go to camps.intuit.com.
  2. Click your account and then go to the Company Name drop-down menu, then choose the correct company.
  3. Scroll down and look for Authorized Users list, then select Edit.
  4. Enter your new email address and click on Save once you’re done.

See this article on how to edit or change your email through Customer Account Management Porta (CAMPS).

I'm always here if you still have any other concerns. Take care and have a great rest of the day!

How to get QB to stop asking me to log into my Intuit Account

As always, Intuit misses the point.  We all know it isn't "more secure" to use an intuit account with QuickBooks Desktop.  It was fine the way it was.  I don't need assistance on how to add an account to our file - I want to know how we bypass that and not use it.  The whole point of QBD was to not get involved with the cloud for use - and we don't want to maintain an online list of employees with access to our file - we want to manage it specifically in QuickBooks Desktop and not create intuit accounts for our whole team.  This is not how we want to use this software, and we completely disagree with intuit forcing users to do this (like everyone else on this forum, which now appears to be 100's of people).  Listen to your user base and remove this requirement.

Sadly it comes back for me... turning off application access to company file does not stop the reminder every week.

In my current country, Sweden, the government introduced a law is that all accounting software MUST have a common export format, so that you are not locked in to one company.

I have been using QuickBooks Pro since 1998!!! And I would jump ship if it was easy.

Intuit... you are ignoring the wishes of users with 20+ years experience in the product.

We do NOT WANT desktop systems to connect to the internet.

For some of us, our secure accounting programmes are on computers not normally connected to the internet. We like it that way. Period.

"Also, QuickBooks is accounting software, it's necessary to have the credentials like the user and the password in compliance with the law."

That's the most ridiculous statement I've ever heard.  Does anyone know of a lawsuit about this?  My company would gladly join in.

Having read every post since May 30 in this thread and seeing the well meaning but totally ineffective responses from the Intuit "support" team, I think it's time for a different strategy.  The CEO of Intuit is Sasan Goodarzi.  His company email is [email address removed].  His Twitter handle is @Sasan_goodarzi.  He sounds like a reasonable guy, trying to do good in the world.  He needs to understand that expanding the reach of unnecessary and unspecified corporate data collection is wreaking havoc on our democratic systems and the antithesis of cultural progress.  This practice has to stop.

How to get QB to stop asking me to log into my Intuit Account

Here is my message to the Intuit CEO:

I am a QuickBooks desktop user. As I'm sure you are aware, a message pops up once a week asking that I sign into my Quickbooks account. As a desktop user, I have no need or desire to set up this account. I know you have to be aware of this issue as there are many others like me who find this message annoying and would like it to stop. Just in case you need a reminder of how many users are unhappy with this message, here is a link to the support page detailing our unhappiness. (link removed) I know you want to keep your users happy, and we feel that we are being unheard and dismissed. Make it possible to get rid of the message once and for all......please.

BUMP!

Hey QB Support,

Hope you are having a great day!

This thread is getting a little old so I wanted to refocus.

Have you found a way for third party applications to access quickbooks with out being prompted for the secondary login?

Is there a way for someone that does not want this to turn it off on a normal login?

These are the 2 main questions.

Thank you

How to get QB to stop asking me to log into my Intuit Account

Thanks for the clarification, @matthewamo.

Allow me to grab this opportunity to share some information about the new security updates of QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

To ensure the safety of your company file, QuickBooks requires you to log in to your intuit account when accessing your company file and opening a third-party application.

I can see that like you, other users are also having difficulties with this new update. Rest assured our product team is aware of this and is looking for ways in modifying it. For now, you can refer to the workaround shared by my peers above to get around this.

To stay current with the latest news and enhancement in QBDT, I suggest checking our Product Updates page for reference.

In case you have other concerns or questions about QBDT, you’re always welcome to tag me in your reply. I’ll be around to assist you. Have a great day ahead!

My God!

You people don't read! Is English a second language!

Your answer has NOTHING to do with the question posed.

I DO NOT USE the online services and see no need to log into an online account! We use this a STAND-ALONE product!

I don't want to open a door, so to speak, and allow access to our accounts. I do not understand why you people insist on this most irritating intrusion!

That's OK - keep drinking the company Kool-Aid! I'll just keep hitting the other button every seven days.

I REFUSE TO OPEN AN ONLINE ACCOUNT for our club's financial program!
