I am unable to search by customer address using QB online when I used to be able to with desktop? Please advise

Hello there, @krsavidge1.

Let's first access your QuickBooks account using a private browser to isolate this concern for browser-related. You can use any of these keyboard shortcuts to open a private/incognito browser:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + N

Once logged in, you can try searching for a customer by address or street name is available. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Sales menu.
  2. Choose the Customers tab.
  3. On the Search field, enter the address details.

Also, you can try using the Advanced Search feature. Here' how:

  1. Click the Magnifying Glass icon.
  2. Enter the customer's address.

If you're able to search for the addresses using the private/incognito browser, you'll then need to clear your browser's cache. However, if the issue persists, you may want to use other web browsers. You can read through this article to ensure you're getting the most out of your QuickBooks Online experience: System requirements for QuickBooks Online.

I am unable to search by customer address using QB online when I used to be able to with desktop? Please advise

I followed these instructions and I can only search by company name. Other responses have talked about some updated to QBO in late 2019, but I just joined last month, so I ASSUME I have the most updated version (which shouldn't be an issue since it's a browser-based, cloud-hosted solution). I'm no software developer, but allowing a search from a field like the address seems pretty basic. All the people showing screen shots of the ability to do this must have some superpower or preference clicked that the rest of us don't have. It would be helpful to troubleshoot that.

Hi there, @dib99.

I appreciate the effort you've done to fix this issue. Since you've performed the browser troubleshooting steps mentioned by my colleague, I'd recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online Customer Care Team. They have the tools to verify your account and perform a screen share to get to the bottom of this.

Here's how to connect with one of our live support agents:

  1. Go to the ? Help.
  2. In the search box, enter "I need to speak to a human" and press Enter.
  3. Input your concern in the text box such as "Can't search customer's address in QBO," or "Performed Browser TS to see the customer's address but still can't" and hit Enter.
  4. Click I still need a human.
  5. Select Get help from a human.
  6. Choose how you want to be connected to our live support if it's either through messaging or a callback
  7. Follow the on-screen details. This is how it looks like:

Also, you can run a Customer Contact List report to easily look for the customer. I've added a screenshot for your reference.
