I don't want to go through PCI process

This sort of has to do with QBO, and Merchant Services. I don't want to go through PCI compliance, especially since I just use merchant services for sending invoices in QBO and not by point of sale. In other words, I don't handle credit cards myself, but rather it is all between my customer and Intuit once the customer receives an invoice through QBO and clicks to pay online. Can I cancel my merchant services account but keep the ability for customers to settle invoices online by check?

Sending good vibes to you, Service.

Yes, you have the option to cancel your merchant services. You will not, however, be able to keep the feature for online invoices.

To keep the ability to manage customer invoices, I'd recommend looking for another third-party application that provides online services.

If you decide to cancel the merchant service, we can go through the process below:

  1. Sign in to the Merchant Service Center as an admin user.
  2. Select the Account tab and then Account Profile.
  3. Select Close Account. If you don't see this option, make sure you're signed in as the account admin. If you still have problems, reach out to our support team.
  4. In the Reason for closing dropdown, select a reason,  and add any comments you'd like to share.
  5. When you're ready, select Submit.

We can visit this link for a better view in choosing an app: https://apps.intuit.com/. From there, we can find different apps that are compatible and designed to work with QuickBooks Online.

I'm leaving you the resources below. These contain information on how to record multiple payments as well as find the invoice's remaining balance in QuickBooks Online:

I don't want to go through PCI process

1. Are you saying that if I drop the credit card feature to pay online with QBO invoices, that the "pay with check" feature can't be used either?

2. "To keep the ability to manage customer invoices, I'd recommend looking for another third party application that provides online services." I don't understand that statement. Are you suggesting that I drop Quickbooks Online and go to one your competitors like Patriot Software?

3. If I drop Quickbooks Merchant Services, I am assuming that I can still uses QBO invoices, but with no online payment feature. My customers can just mail me a check or pay with Venmo or Square. Please confirm.

I can share additional information about QuickBooks Payments, @Service.

The third-party application that my colleague is referring to is another application that can integrate with QuickBooks Online (QBO). An app that can manage invoices, and it'll flow automatically to your QBO account.

They can still pay you with a check. However, you'll need to record manually in QBO.

Yes, you can still use QBO invoices without QuickBooks Payments. However, your invoices will no longer have the button to pay by credit, debit, Apple Pay, PayPal, Venmo, or ACH bank transfers. They must process it manually. Then, you may need to record the payments in the account.

Refer to the following article for more information about cancelling your QuickBooks Payments subscription

If you no longer use QuickBooks Payments, here's how to record payments processed outside QuickBooks.

You have the choice to turn off the credit card option and only allowing ACH payment. The second option is to get a third party payment gateway managing checks only.  send me inbox for options

I don't want to go through PCI process

Can I get clarification.  I don't take credit card payments, but I do take ACH payments.  Do I still need to be PCI compliant?

I don't want to go through PCI process

I'm here to help clear things out for you, @AdrienneGC.

If your business only processes payments through Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments in your Merchant Services, then you might not require PCI compliance. PCI compliance refers to a set of security standards credit card companies establish to prevent fraud.

PCIs protect sensitive information, such as cardholder data, from theft and fraud. Therefore, only those merchants who accept credit or debit cards must follow these standards to maintain a secure and safe environment for their customers.
