I need help with my community login credentials

I'm unable to login with a username I've been using recently to post and reply (not this account). I believe I have only one email and one text number, but seemingly multiple user names. Can someone tell me how to get help back channel? thanks

(I tried to get email help from INTUIT outside of the community forum and went here: https://www.intuit.com/company/contact/

"Contact us
Find assistance or guidance with account support, product support links, privacy and security, and more."

… but there are no links.)

I need help with my community login credentials

Good evening, @bob2024

I appreciate you coming here with your question about you Community login credentials.

The best way to get your login credentials is by using the link you provided and scroll down to the Account Recovery option.

This will allow you to recover your account properly. Please let us know how it goes!

Thank you for that information, however when I try the recovery option you mention, I get:

"We can't find anyone with bobqkbx

I can open my post (from an email link) and I am addressed thusly by MarkAngeloG (QuickBooks Team):
"Hi bobqkbx"

This usually happens if you use 2 different accounts, @bob2024. Allow me to advise you regarding your Community posting account and assist you in regaining access to it smoothly.

To ensure you log in successfully with your account, I suggest double-checking that your login credentials are correct. This step is important for achieving seamless access to your account. If the issue persists, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Live Support Team directly. You can follow the given contact support on this link from the I've tried all of the self-help options and still can't sign in: Recover your Intuit Account if you can’t sign in.

On the other hand,  I will include an article to assist you in updating or changing your email address, user ID, password, and other account information for your QuickBooks, TurboTax, or Credit Karma products: Update or Change Your Intuit Account Sign-In Information.

Once you regain access to your account, feel free to post here again if you have more questions about navigating your QBO. Remember, I'm always here to support you in achieving your goals with QuickBooks.

I tried that, and am able to choose two accounts to login to, one is my email address, the other is qbobq. Login into either does not allow me to reply to the replies to the bobqkbx I posted.

Since I have an account I can log into (this one), it would be a bit awkward, but I'd be OK replying to the replies to my bobqbkbx account posts with another account (i.e., "Hi, this is really bobqkx, but I can't log into that account. (and the enter my reply), but when I try, I get:

Authentication Failed.
Authentication Ticket Mismatched, failed authentication.
Return to my original page

I also get:

400 Bad Request

Request Header Or Cookie Too Large
nginx

Is it not possible for anyone with a valid account to reply to any community post?

I appreciate you taking the steps suggested by my colleague Bob. Fixing this Community login challenge is vital for your valuable participation and sharing of ideas on the channel. Rest assured, I'm here to assist you in rectifying this quickly so you can continue to engage effectively.

The error messages you receive when logging in with your account on the Community page indicate issues with your browser session and cookies. Hence, I recommend clearing your browser's cache and cookies, particularly those related to Intuit and QuickBooks sites. These procedures will ensure that any authentication mismatches or problems are isolated.

To clear browser cache and cookies in the Google Chrome browser, follow the detailed steps below:

  1. Launch the Chrome browser on your computer.
  2. Click on the More icon (three vertical dots) at the top-right corner of the browser window.
    image_480.png
  3. Select Settings and choose Privacy and Security.
  4. Go to Delete Browsing data.
  5. Choose the correct Time Range.
  6. Make sure both the Browsing history and Cookies options are selected.
    image_360.png
  7. Click on the Clear Data button.

Once done, I suggest closing and reopening your Chrome browser to ensure changes are applied.

If you're using a different type of browser, please visit this comprehensive article for detailed instructions tailored to your specific version: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online. You could also use an incognito mode as an alternative option.

Additionally, I've reviewed your post about migrating from QuickBooks Desktop Mac 2021 to Quicken and would like to share resources to facilitate a smooth transition. This includes steps for exporting data from QuickBooks and backing up your company file:

We value your patience and participation as we work through this issue together. If you require additional assistance or have questions you'd like to discuss, let me know in this thread. I'm committed to resolving your concerns in the shortest time possible.

I need help with my community login credentials

I created an incognito window and entered the user name that I posted with, but continue to get:

"We can't find anyone with bobqbkbx"

If I enter my email address, I have two login choices:

"qbobq" and then my email address.

If I enter my phone number, I login via 2FA to my email address, and then get yet another user name: "Bob M".

And then I have yet another username:  Bob2024 also tied to my email.

But nothing about bobqbkbx. Is it possible that when I was asked to update my credentials that I changed my username from that to something else?

(Separately, when I went to login as this account (Bob2024), I can enter a password, or have a code texted to a phone number I don't recognize (it only shows the last two digits). To investigate, I had a code sent to that number, but am not seeing it anywhere. I then manually entered my cel number, and was then promoted to enter a password, or have a code sent to my email address, which I did, and that worked. I don't at all believe there is any hacking going on, but I it would be useful to have that unknown phone number removed.

When I do get logged in, it shows "Bob M", not "Bob2024" as my username.

It's good that you also tried sending a code to see if it'll show in your number, bob2024. Let me share some information regarding accessing your QuickBooks Community account.

If you cannot log in to your account, please fill out the recovery form to regain access. Before you start, prepare a high-quality photo or scan of your driver's license, state ID, passport, or a notarized document.

Next, complete the recovery form and upload the required ID or document. You'll receive an email from no_response@intuit.com with further instructions on the next steps.

Also, when changing your credentials, such as your username, please be aware that using the same username across multiple accounts associated with the same email but differing passwords could lead to unintentional logins to the incorrect account.

You can also contact our support for further verification regarding your account.

Furthermore, you can also view this article to change your information: Update or change your Intuit Account sign-in information.

Please let me know if you have additional questions regarding accessing your account. I'll be happy to lend a hand.

I need help with my community login credentials

1) What is your definition of an account? It cannot be a email address, because, as you wrote, an email address can have more than one username. Is an account then the username (most likely, I imagine), or a phone number?

--

You write that an email account can have multiple accounts associated with the same email. That is true for me when I login with my email address, but neither account has the username of bobqkbx , which is the username I used to create the post about exporting QuickBooks data. I would include a screenshot of that, but when I go to the QuickBooks community home page, entering text I know I entered in my post, in the search field, only brings up what appear to be sticky posts by QuickBooks. The latest half dozen or so community posts show, but when I click the right arrow to see more (chronologically older) posts, there are zero results, and when I then click the back arrow, even the posts that originally showed are gone.

I've been given all kinds of advise on how to login as bobqkbx , but none of them work, and I've explained in detail how so it didn't work.

2) Please explain why, when I enter bobqkbx as a username to login with, in a fresh (caches all cleared) browser, it says there is no such user. Surely someone at QuickBooks can see if that account is still valid or not. That might explain a lot. Just to know if that is even a valid account. Not a security risk to do so.

In terms of uploading personal data like a government ID with my photo, I have multiple times had my identity (including social security number) stolen, twice via state government agencies who were conned into giving our my information (not account / password hacks), and other times by state university medical centers. In my opinion, many people give up personal information when they shouldn't, just because they are asked. I'm too vigilant for that. I trust QuickBooks's intent, but don't trust any organization's ability to fully secure people's personal data.

Asking for such personal identification in this case should not be necessary. I am able to login into two accounts associated with my email address, and am able to verify my identity both through email 2FA codes, and via phone (text) 2FA codes. That should be sufficient.

I've spent hours and hours trying all of QuickBooks' suggestions, but I've nearly run out of patience. I've received plenty of fast and well meaning help, and appreciate it very much, but I cannot login as bobqkbx. The system seems unwieldy. Perhaps I'll try to change one of my usernames to that. My goal is to simply be able to continue with the matter of my original post.

I need help with my community login credentials

I have finally got to the bottom of all of this. I was able to change one of my usernames (back) to the original one, and I can now reply using that username. After I attempted to change it, but got a white pop up with no information in it, however it was successfully changed, nonetheless.

At this point, I don't think there is any value in this thread for anyone else, and you may want to delete the entire thread.

Thanks again for all your help.
