Import form style | white screen

During the process of creating a Quote | Estimate template in MS Word and later importing it into QuickBooks Online [Import form style, I managed to match the fields and in the print preview presented me with a completely blank screen. What could be the problem?

Hi there, @EBayonet

Thanks for visiting the Community today. I appreciate the screenshot you've shared.

File types may cause issues when uploading your customized sales form. Please verify that you're not using these file types listed below on your templates to avoid display issue:

  • Audio
  • ClipArt, Word Art
  • Animated GIFS
  • Embedded files
  • Adding or updating hidden links or merging fields
  • Files over 2MB
  • Non-.docx file types or older MS Word documents renamed as .docx files

Also, I'd suggest you check the settings in the Microsoft Word and confirm that the cell is not expanded when text is added. Ensure also that the tables stay in line and not overlapping with each other when uploaded to QuickBooks.

If everything looks great and still not showing in the preview page, it could mean a browser-related issue. I'd recommend using a private browser because it doesn't store cache files. Here's how:

  • Chrome simply press Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • Safari, press Command + Shift + N. Make sure you're using the latest version.

Then, re-import the file. Refer to this help article for more information: Import custom form styles for invoices or estimates. It also includes ideas on how to fix specific errors when uploading in case you'll encounter any.

For future reference, here's a great article that can help you in so many ways: Convert an estimate into an invoice in QuickBooks Online. It saves your time by turning your estimates into an invoice once your customer accepts it.

Let me know if you have more concerns about anything else. We're always delighted to assist.
