Invoice Sender in Emails is now Quickbooks instead of my Company?

Good day, @SylvieBarredo.

I'll share some insights about sending invoices in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

Once you send invoices to your customers, QuickBooks is the one that delivers them. This is the reason why it shows as the sender of the transaction.

The name of your company will show as the subject of the email. Once your customers open it, they can easily identify it using your company's name.

To get more details about sending invoices, you can check out this article: How to add products and services to an invoice and send it to your customers.

Moreover, you can set up online payments so customers can pay for their invoices electronically.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or other QuickBooks-related concerns. I'll be here to help you. Have a great weekend.

Invoice Sender in Emails is now Quickbooks instead of my Company?

Hello there,

I have exactly the same issue here.  Due to the fact that it looks like Quickbooks is sending the email out to my colleagues they either ignore the email or it goes into their spam.  I've now had several issues with invoices not being received due to this new format.  Is there no way this can be flipped so it appears as though the invoice is coming from myself?

Hey there, @150776.

Welcome to the Community! Thank you for joining this thread and sharing your concern. I'm here to share some steps for you to get around this.

Do you have a Gmail? In QuickBooks Online, you can now send invoices from your Gmail address, and we hope to add more email providers in the future. I'll show you how to set it up in no time.

Here's how:

  1. Create an invoice or open an existing one.
  2. Once you fill out the necessary fields, select Save and send to open the preview window.
  3. Above the customer’s email, select the From dropdown.
  4. Choose Add Gmail address, then Connect Google account.

  5. Enter your Gmail address in the sign in window, then Next. If your computer remembers your Gmail, pick the email you want to use. Then Allow and you're good to go.
  6. Enter your Gmail password, then Next.
  7. Click Allow. Then you're ready to send invoices.

Then, if your customer wants to make a payment, enter the transaction manually.

We'd also appreciate to hear your thoughts and ideas through your account. Our product development team reviews all the feedback we receive to ensure we’re meeting the needs of our customers.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Assistant feature.
  2. Type in Submit Feedback.
  3. Choose Add a feature.
  4. Enter your suggestions.

Keep me updated on how these steps turn out and let me know if you need further assistance managing your invoices. I'm always around to help.

I have this same issue. My clients now think that my invoices are spam and I am not being paid promptly. I have QBSE NOT the online version.

I hear your sentiments, @charlottehadlow.

I recognize the convenience of changing the sender of the invoices in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE). I also understand that you want to make some changes and improvements to QBSE to meet your business needs. However, at this time, there's no integrated way to customize the email-sender of your invoices in QBSE is unavailable.

Rest assured that I'll relay this message to our team in concern here on my end. Please know that your feedback is valuable and we know our engineering team will be eager to hear it.

You can also share your thoughts and ideas through your account. Here's how:

  1. Go to Assistant located in the upper right-hand corner.
  2. Type Feedback and click the Add a feature button.
  3. Enter your request in the field.

Additionally, you may check out this resource to see different information on how QBSE tracks your business income and taxes: QuickBooks Self-Employed Overview.

Please know that you're always welcome to post a reply in this thread if you have any other questions about your QBSE account. I'll be here ready to assist you. Keep safe!

This is unacceptable that QuickBooks is hijacking my sender field. Twice I have not been paid on time because it went to a spam folder. Out going email needs to leave by my email software

give us a fix or lose the subscription please.

I MAY have actually figured this out, as it has been making me nuts for the past few days since I made the switch from Quickbooks Desktop to Quickbooks Online.  I actually went and used my business email address to create a gmail account. I was able to use my exact address even though it is not "@gmail.com" After doing so I was able to add that one into the "add gmail account" in the from dropdown when sending and invoice.  For the past few tries, it seems like it is working!

Invoice Sender in Emails is now Quickbooks instead of my Company?

Hi,

I could add my company email address to QB, but I cannot change the sender's name. Our company's name appears as sender, but not me, personally. Our members think it's a spam, because they always receive the invoices from me directly. Any suggestion how to change the sender's name? Thanks!

Let me share some insights, EC2024.

The sender's name and email address need to be modified. However, changing the sender's name or email address won't be possible since it is system-generated.

I've added this article for more information about sending invoices in QuickBooks Self-Employed. Create invoices in QuickBooks Self-Employed. You can also find other helpful articles here for guides and tutorials.

I'd like to know how things went after you tried the steps. We're here if you need more help. Feel free to reach out to us again. Have a good day!

Invoice Sender in Emails is now Quickbooks instead of my Company?

I know this is a two year problem, but just ran into this recently. It seems that there wasn't really a resolution for this.

For the past years using Quickbooks, I didn't seem to have this problem, but now my emails come out as qbo and clients think it is spam. What changed Quickbooks?

Has anyone else resolved this?

We recognize the importance of maintaining the authenticity of your email communications. I'm here to assist you in submitting your feedback to the appropriate team at QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

Currently, QBSE does not offer a way to customize the email sender of your invoices within the program. I encourage you to share your feedback with our product engineers, as they review suggestions for potential future updates.

Here's how to send your request:

  1. Go to Invoices and select Create invoice.
  2. At the top right of the screen, click Feedback.
  3. Type in your suggestion and click Next.

On the other hand, if you're using QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can use your Gmail to send invoices to your customers.

Additionally, you can refer to this article about managing your QBSE: Overview of QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Let us know if you have other concerns with your invoices in QBSE. We're here to help you in any way we can.

Invoice Sender in Emails is now Quickbooks instead of my Company?

Hi @JanbonN got it. I've sent a feedback.

Regarding Gmail, I am unable to do that because our provider is Outlook.

I am wondering, after years of working correctly, it suddenly does this. Previously, all my emails come from the address "my company name"<[email address removed]> and when I send out an invoice, the FROM portion even shows this address (see attached image). Then, when email arrive the from sender address becomes: "qbo" <[email address removed]>. Is there a problem with Quickbook's email client or forwarding?
Is it possible to fix this soon as we have received feedback that our mail looks like spam or is sorted into spam folders?

Invoice Sender in Emails is now Quickbooks instead of my Company?

Hello, there. I'd be glad to answer your questions about email client or forwarding in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

The QBO email client currently only supports Gmail. There's no available option to customize the email sender at this time, as it is working as designed. Since you already sent a feedback, our product engineers will review your suggestions and may consider including it on the next update.

To manage your sales forms efficiently, check out this article: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

If you have follow-up questions about sending out invoices using QBO, please add them in the comments below. Have a good one.

Hi @ShangY got it. What you are suggesting is customizing the invoices, which is very different from what I described. Unfortunately, that doesn't solve the issue.

The issue is, sending out invoices was working well for the past years, and yesterday it changed. I would like it to be the way it was. That's the concern.

In the meantime, we are sending invoices the old school way. I hope your engineers can take a look at this asap.
