I created a new invoice under custom forms. I want to use that for invoices. How do I replace the standard invoice that comes up when I select invoices sales?
I previously had used the desktop version and creating invoices was so easy. I am having trouble navigating to try to find how to do that.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
It's great to see you here in the Community forum, lmulbrook. I'm happy to assist you with replacing the standard invoice template in QuickBooks Online. Let's get started on that.
You can click the Design tab in the Manage menu of your invoice as it will display all the templates that you have created in the Custom Form Styles menu. However, please note that the invoice template will not show automatically when creating the invoice. You will need to select Print and download to view the invoice template.
You can also set the new invoice template as the default after creating it in Custom Form Styles. Simply click the dropdown ▼ in the Action column and select Make Default.

Additionally, I've included some resources to help create a template for recurring transactions and entering received invoice payments from your customers:
Feel free to ask if you have additional questions about using invoice template or any concerns with QBO. I'm always here to guide and help. Stay safe.
But I want to use my template each time I do an invoice. How does that happen? Can I replace the one that automatically comes up when I go to do an invoice. I want my template to pop up so I can add in the info I am billing.
What am I missing?
When I work in the desktop version, I pull up my customer, enter all my items, save it then print all my invoices.
Thanks.
Thanks for reaching back to us, @lmulbrook.
You can definitely use your own invoice template in QuickBooks Online by setting it as your default. This way, you won't have to select it each time you create an invoice. Here's how you can do it:
Please note that your default invoice template won't automatically show when creating an invoice. You'll need to click the Print and download button to view the template.
