Keep getting email saying "We noticed you haven’t signed in to your Intuit account for over 180 days."

I find this annoying, and your answer incomplete.

As QB requires a password to open a company file, why would you then prompt for an online login.

I use have use QB for years and am now on QD Pro desktop 2021.

This extra login thing is new to this version.

Further the idea that it somehow helps protect me assumes that I can't protect myself.

This should be an option not a thing we are forced to do.

Let me share some information on how QuickBooks manages the security of your data. Annoyed User.

At Intuit, we take your safety seriously. We're here to ensure to keep your data and privacy safe. This is the article we can provide about our password security for QuickBooks Desktop. Rest assured that we'll not pull out nor ex-filtrate your data since we're here to take care of it and keep it safe.

Also, QuickBooks Desktop requires passwords for data files to meet certain complexity requirements. Passwords required/must be changed every 90 days. QuickBooks prompts you to change your password near the end of the 90 days as well as on the expiration date itself.

You'll be asked to change the password if you have Personally Identifiable Information (PII) entered to your company. This includes the employee and a company social security number, company EIN, company bank details (routing number, account number), or vendor tax ID.

Same issue here.  I am a Professional Advisor CPA and I access at least thirty desktop QB files no less than once a month.  The email doesn't specify which of my accounts it's talking about, and, which may be significant, I was notified at an email address I no longer use.   Mostly the email is just annoying, but I can't have you all shutting me out of one of my files because I didn't do something where it registered on your computer.   How do I find out which data file your email is referring to?

Hello, Hyacinthclare.

I'd like to add some additional details regarding the notification.

The prompt is referring to your Intuit account. QuickBooks Desktop file will require that you log back into the Intuit account as the Primary Admin, every 180 days. This is to ensure that you have link your QuickBooks Desktop company file to your existing Intuit account.

For more information, you'll want to check the solutions shared by my colleague MichelleBh and IamjuViel here. I'll also re-share this article to learn more about your Intuit account: Intuit account – Why now for QuickBooks Desktop?

In case you have both programs linked together and still getting this prompt, I recommend reaching out to our Customer Care Team. They review your account and investigate which account is prompting you with this notification. Please take note that our support hours for QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, and Plus starts from M-F 6 AM to 6 PM. For QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise, we're available any time, any day.

Here are the steps:

I keep getting an email saying "We noticed you haven’t signed in to your Intuit account for over 180 days."  I open QuickBooks as an administrator at least once a week.  Since I use QuickBooks Payments, every time QB opens, it signs into my Intuit/QB Payments account.  Is there something I need to do to stop these notifications?  What am I missing here?

I'm using QB Desktop Pro 2021.

Thanks!
