Create or open a company file using your Intuit account ID

Learn how to log in to QuickBooks Desktop using your Intuit account ID.

When you open or create a new company file in QuickBooks Desktop, you might see a prompt to log in using your Intuit account ID. Using your Intuit account ID makes it easier to manage your connected Intuit products and services. You might also see a prompt to use your Intuit account ID when you add a user, sign in to MyCompany, or while accessing Intuit User Account Management. This gives the added security and simplicity of using one account for all your services. Here’s what to do.

  1. Create a new company file or open an existing company file.
    1. You’re the admin: Select this if you’re an admin who logs in to the QuickBooks Desktop company file with Admin credentials and manage all of the financial actions and users roles for the company file. Then enter your Email or user ID.
    2. I’m not an admin: Select this if you log in to the company file with a shared QuickBooks Desktop Admin credential.
  2. Select Continue.
  3. If you’re the admin you’ll be prompted to enter your Email or user ID, then enter your Password.
  4. Select Sign In.
