Correct but it's far cheaper and they allow you to become a partner for free and have as many companies as you like with unlimited users all in one database with one login. I've looked at Zoho they do not offer the same as Patriot and Patriot is far less expensive. I currently use QB desktop but I'm not willing to pay a subscription to have it at that ridiculous price per year. Options are limited for a good desktop program that allows you to do what QB did unless you continue to use it for free and cancel the payroll option. Problem is that it will also shut down the auto bank recs. Patriot at least offers as much or better even if they are cloud based.
Try Patriot Accounting. Far better and cheaper.
Yeah they don't care one bit. Try using Patriot Accounting. Great service.
Monthly subscription increase again. Many years ago, I paid for standalone software that worked perfectly well with many more features than the online version we use now. I pay monthly and own nothing.
Intuit annual revenue hits $12-13 BILLION and tell us:
At QuickBooks, supporting the needs of small business owners and mid-market customers, especially in the face of shifting and changing markets, is our singular focus. To do this, innovation is key
Intuit revenue for the twelve months ending October 31, 2022 was $13.316B, a 29.07% increase year-over-year. Intuit annual revenue for 2022 was $12.726B, a 32.11% increase from 2021.
Certainly not the industry standard.
Accounting Edge has moved to subscription and it is $15 a month so WAY less than 549 per year.
I am moving four clients off of quickbooks ...so far.
You are just trying to transition people to QB online which is horrible in my opinion. I have a number of clients on it and absolutely hate it. Importing Mac data doesn't even work very well and I will not burden my Mac clients.

Sorry. I keep trying to reply to the 2nd post on this thread re "industry standard" price. It keeps ending up here and does not fit.
Accounting Edge or AccountEdge?
We are on Enterprise and QB Online is not nor ever will work for us. So forcing us to go to Online is a non-starter. We are up for subscription renewal, and the price is 40% more than it was in 2022, and 2022 we experienced a 94% increase. This price gouging is killing small businesses, who are already struggling with the increased costs of operation and recovering from all the COVID shutdowns. Intuit support is worthless, 2023 Enterprise is not that significantly better than 2022, and we wouldn't be using the touted features anyhow. In my opinion they keep raising the price and we are not getting significant added value, either in the product or the support. I called and talked with someone and the answer was to paraphrase: "too bad, so sad, but the price is the price". Also, the email we received about renewal states "Going forward, we will provide support only for the latest version available during the term of your active subscription", which to me means they will only support if you upgrade to 2023. The person I talked to said that "no, that was not true, they will support the most recent 3 years". So which is it? Honestly, QB used to be a good product with good service, but those days are long gone.
You can renew your subscription through selected partners and enjoy up to 20% off the current list price. They will support QB Desktop 2022 until May 2025 unless they announce a new policy.
I have encouraged most of my clients to navigate from Online back to Desktop, and am now looking to navigate out of Quickbooks altogether as my price has increased tremendously for the next year. QB Online is NOT user-friendly, and clients who try to use it on their own always end up with a huge mess that they want me to clean up for them. I can't even figure out most of QB Online's quirks, so I can't expect clients to know how to do that.
Hello, asater. I understand how important to know basic instructions on how to use QuickBooks Online. I'll help share some information about the product.
I'm sharing some articles that will help you navigate through QuickBooks seamlessly.

I have been a user of QBD Pro/Premier for the last 15 years. Just called Patriot. Their higher-end packages for both the accounting and payroll are comparable to QBD Pro/Premier. Thus for a single-person company, Accounting @ $30 + Payroll @ $41 (37+4) = $71/month = $852/year, which is higher compared to QBD Premier $799/year.
How many employee do you need to manage their payroll?
I want to correct myself. After the post here, I called Intuit to clear up a few things, and learned that $799/year was just for the QBD renewal. The payroll is another $463/year. This is for 1 user, $1,262/year. Apparently Intuit doesn't care loosing a bunch of small business customers. That would make Patriot Accounting cheaper, but still quite expensive for 1-2 people businesses.
just one.
If you are working solo on a desktop (PC or Mac) to manage your book and only need basic features, you should explore a free program. You can use the program for as long as you like, use all the features and enter as much data as required. There are no time limits, no usage limits, no ads (at this time). This program is quite popular in Asia and Europe. Then you can use a 3rd party payroll app separately.
That's exactly my plan. Thank you.
I support your viewpoints and objections to the price increases. It is ridiculous. I am a QB customer for 20 plus years, now, but I am looking for alternatives, since our company is small.
Explore this one as I mentioned earlier.

Needless to say, I am leaving QB after 15 years of loyalty. Their management will realize soon how badly this decision will turn out for Intuit. I am switching to the following:
@Fiat Lux - ASIA - good suggestions, I will consider them too.
8.5% price increase bloody extortionate
they need to have a look at their pricing policy it is ridiculous
Does anyone know if Quickbooks Desktop Accountant version 2022/2023 is or was available in non subscription?
They offered the QBD 2022 Accountant edition with a one-time license until last year's QBD 2023 release. You may find used licenses if you're lucky.
OK, thank you. I've been looking but did not want to continue if it was not possibly out there.
