Thanks - I already bought the QB 2019 but wanted to be sure it will import QB 2010 files.

I'm not sure what you mean by options.  You can purchase and install 2019, but with a 9-year-old file you will probably need help to upgrade your file in at least 3 year increments.  Ask Intuit to do it for you.

I'm delighted to hear you wish to upgrade your QuickBooks program, @iamkdoan.

To explore the new features available in QuickBooks 2019, you can try downloading the QuickBooks Desktop Trial version. Just make sure to create a back up copy of your QuickBooks 2010 company file prior to starting the upgrading process. By doing so, you’ll always have an intact file to go back and work with when prompted with any error.

To download the trial version, here’s how:

  1. Go to: QuickBooks for Mac 2019 30-day trial.
  2. Choose your Product and Version.
  3. Hit Search.
  4. Click Download.

Once completed, follow these steps on how to install QuickBooks:

  1. Run your downloaded QuickBooks 2019.
  2. Click Yes pop-up messages.
  3. Select Next to begin the installation.
  4. Click the I accept the terms in the license agreement box and click Next.
  5. Enter your License and Product numbers, then select Next.
  6. Continue the prompts.

Once the Trial version is used up, I recommend reaching out to our Customer Care Team to further process your order for the regular QuickBooks Desktop 2019.

Here’s how you can contact us:

  1. Visit: https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact.
  2. Choose your QuickBooks Product.
  3. Select your QuickBooks version.
  4. On the Contact Us page, click a topic.
  5. Click on the Get Phone Number button to see the support number.

Don't hesitate to let me know how it goes, or if you have follow-up questions about installing the new QuickBooks version on your computer. I’m always here to lend a hand.

Can I  directly upgrade from QB 2010 to QB 2019 in one shot or I have to upgrade to QB 2011, QB 2013...2018 then QB 2019?

Just to follow up and it may help someone else.

I created a backup of QB 2010 and imported it directly to QB 2019 without any issues.

Thanks,

I wouldn't update if you haven't already.  2019 is a mess.

Why do you say QB 2019 is a mess?
