QB desktop suscription in no internet computer

Afaik, they don't offer QB Desktop Enterprise edition with the one time license since 2017. You can consider using QB Desktop Accountant edition for 10 users with the one time license. Bear in mind, you can only open the same file for up to 5 users at the same time.

When getting started with QBDT, you'll need to have an Internet connection. This way, you can install the product, activate the registration of your product and license number, and download release updates. 

Afterward, you can access your QBDT without an Internet connection by setting up some options. Here's how:

1. In your QuickBooks Desktop, go to the Help menu and select Internet Connection Setup.
2. Choose I do not have a way to connect to the Internet.
3. Click Next and select Done.
4. Close and reopen QuickBooks Desktop.

I have QB ft 2022 subscription. In a computer that has wi-fi  turned off. It  doesn't have to be turned back on  for anything else in the computer.

I have been using QB this week and all seems normal. My QB subscription ends on 10/27. What, if anything will happen? Can I keep using QB  this way, with no wi-fi, with no problem?  Am I missing anything?

From time to time, QB will ask you to connect to their servers to sync your active license. In practice you will not be completely on stand-alone mode. That's how it works now. You can use the trial version of QB Desktop 2022 after 10/27 to access your data for good if needed.

Since the version you’re using is still supported, this functions as you’d normally do to manage your company file. Like Fiat Lux – ASIA mentioned, the application will ask you from time to time to connect to the internet to sync your newly entered data to our servers.

The difference you may encounter from not connecting to the internet is that you won’t be able to access or perform specific tasks that require an internet connection.

Right now, all I'm looking for is a way to get past the end of the year so I can finish up stufff like payroll information for Fed& State Taxes, 1099 information, Information forthe accountant for Income taxe filing, etc. all in one place.  I can get there and do and all of this with no internet. Some of it manually but that's not a problem.

After that might go with the on-line QB. I do have a question about that though.  Will I be able to switch over if I don't have an active subscription?

You can use the trial version to convert your data to QBO later. And you can also use the trial version to access your historical data.

I'll help you prepare your account if you want to migrate data from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.

You can use the trial version as your subscription when migrating.

Before switching to QuickBooks Online, make sure your QuickBooks Desktop is still supported. From there, you can migrate the data. Before doing so, your computer or laptop should meet the QuickBooks system requirements.

Here's how to upgrade:

1. Sign-in to Windows as an admin user.
2. Download a trial version of QuickBooks Desktop.
3. Follow the steps install file.

You can then move your files from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online. Follow the steps below.

1. Get your Desktop file ready.
2. Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online.
3. Get ready to use QuickBooks Online.

It looks like I should convert to the Tral QBDT whle I still have a QBTD 2022 Subscription.

Can I get QBO in January with a expired 30 Trial QBD; or doI have to do get QBO before I cancell the 30 day Trial QBD?

I'll check this out, but I expect this wil be the same process as downloading and installing the earlier versions.  

I MUST know how ro cancel before I get charged the full amount.  Is there anyhthing else I should know?

Yes, you have to get QBO before canceling QBDT, JellyJar.

Once your QBDT subscription has expired, you will no longer have the ability to migrate your data to another platform.

On the other hand, here are the steps to cancel your QuickBooks Desktop subscription if needed.

1. Log into your CAMPs account.
2. Choose the QuickBooks Desktop Account option.
3. Find your subscription or service in the Products & Services area, then select Details.
4. Confirm that this is the product or service you wish to cancel, then select Cancel Service under the active subscription.
5. Please let us know why you are leaving so we can improve our services. Then, select Continue to cancel.
6. Confirm your decision by selecting Cancel Now.

If you still need to access your data after 10/27 but decide to wait for data conversion until January 2024, I would recommend these steps

1. Your QBD 2022 license will expire on 10/27, correct? Once your license has expired, uninstall the program and install the trial version of QB Desktop 2022 Enterprise. You can use it until 11/27

2. On 11/27, install the trial version of QB Desktop 2023 Enterprise and you will use it until 12/27

3. On 12/27, install the trial version of QB Desktop 2024 Enterprise and you will use it until 1/27/2024

After considerable thought, here is what we decided: 

We will continue to use QBDT 2022 (without Wi-Fi) through the end of the year and into 2024 as long as it takes to finish up our YE tax filings.

In late December we will  purchase QBO and we will start using it with 2024 business. We won't merge anything from QBDT in to QBO. There will be a clean break between the two years.

When your QBD 2022 license expires on 10/27, your program will be locked and you will only be able to access your data in read-only mode. Disconnecting from the internet connection does not prevent the program from being locked at the end of the period. You can use the trial version of QBD 2022 to continue your work until you are ready to switch to QBO. You can also use the trial version to access your historical data for good if needed.
