QB Enterprise not starting up

Message when trying to open Quickbooks Enterprise:

Quickbooks has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Any help with this would be appreciated. I sat on the phone with support for over an hour yesterday and no resolution. They said it was something on the Windows side and I should do updates.I have and restarted computer and cleared all previous even had me uninstall and re-install. Same issue.

Your dedication and effort in addressing the problem of accessing your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Enterprise account are truly commendable, @Deerwhistle. Together, we'll navigate through this challenge and restore your QuickBooks functionality as quickly as possible.

Before anything else, let's ensure that the Windows OS on your computer is updated to prevent potential software conflicts or performance issues and ensure smooth operation while using the QuickBooks program.

Meanwhile, after a thorough review, we have confirmed that there have been no reported issues related to accessing company accounts in QBDT Enterprise. However, we can run QuickBooks Tool Hub to help diagnose and resolve a variety of issues that users may encounter while using QBDT. It consolidates multiple tools into one convenient application, making it easier to address problems efficiently.

To begin with, kindly follow these steps:

  1. Let's install the latest version (1.4.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  2. Once downloaded, let's open the file (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  3. Follow the on-screen steps and agree to the terms and conditions.
  4. When the installation is completed, locate and double-click the QuickBooks Tool Hub icon on your Windows desktop to open it.
  5. Once the program opens, select Program Problems.
  6. Click Quick Fix My Program.
  7. Start QBDT and open your data file.

If the problem continues, let's proceed with the second solution:

  1. Go back to the Program Problems section.
  2. Select QuickBooks Program Diagnostic Tool. Allow the tool to run its diagnostic process.
  3. When it's done, restart your computer and relaunch QuickBooks.

To continue with solution three, please refer to this article: Fix issues when QuickBooks has stopped working.

If the issue persists, I suggest consulting your IT professional for expert assistance. They are uniquely positioned to diagnose and troubleshoot complex problems related to your Windows system. If necessary, they can also help you revert any recent Windows updates that cause compatibility, thereby ensuring your system operates seamlessly.

If your IT specialist has assured you that the issue is not linked to your Windows OS and that everything is compatible, I suggest contacting our Live Support Team for further assistance. They are equipped with the right tools and resources to examine this situation in detail.

In QBDT, you'll have the option to tailor any report to your specific needs. Enjoy unparalleled customization options, allowing you to refine the data, add or remove columns, and modify the header and footer to suit your preferences.

Your productivity is important, and we're committed to ensuring you can continue your tasks smoothly and efficiently within QBDT. If there's any additional assistance I can offer, let me know below and I'll provide you a service. Take care.

QB Enterprise not starting up

Sorry, I have gone through all of these suggestions and still have not had any luck. I am sorry no one else has had this problem. I have updated all software, changed the QBWUSER.ini file, used the latest version of Quickbooks Tool hub. Nothing seems to be working. I have a case # 15127714923. Maybe someone else has some ideas what is going on.

Thanks,

QB Enterprise not starting up

I appreciate you for coming back to address your concern, Deerwhistle, and thank you for laying out the details of what happened after performing the steps. I'll discuss some details of why your QuickBooks Enterprise is not starting up.

QuickBooks Desktop may stop working due to various reasons, such as:

  • The company name may be too long
  • Have a damaged or missing QBWUSER.INI file
  • Have corruption on your hard drive
  • The program files or QuickBooks Desktop installation may be damaged
  • Have a damaged Windows operating system

As the issue persists after performing the steps provided by my colleague above, I highly suggest you contact our support team again for further assistance. They can update the case, and if the problem continues, they can create an Ongoing Investigation (INV) regarding this matter.

Here's how:

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. Sign in to your Company file.
  3. Go to Help, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help/Contact Us.
  4. Enter the question, keyword, or topic you need help with.

QB Enterprise not starting up

@Deerwhistle  I don't know if this applies to your specific situation, but for months, I had issues with unrecoverable errors each time I switched company files.

In my case, it turned out to be an issue with the Dynamic Link Library getting distorted over time; it was happening due to something with Adobe's PDF program.

Rolling back to an earlier version of my printer drivers fixed it; could be that some other program is having similar issues in your case.
