I am having exactly the identical problem qbmapi64 out of memory
Hello there, MJPR2018.
I've checked our system and the investigation is already resolved. The error is caused by an older release of Microsoft Office. We recommend you update to the latest release to resolve this issue. If you have windows, you can open an MS Word document and click File from the menu. Click Account or Help and you'll see the Office version, then select Update.
After updating Office, open your QuickBooks Desktop Company update it to its latest release. Then, try sending an invoice again.
If you still get the same error, you can follow the steps provided by my colleague on how to contact us. This way, we can open a new investigation.
Keep me posted on how this works. I'll be around the corner to assist you. Take care!
Just started happening to me. Unable to send emails out of QB Non-Profit 2019. Get the out of memory error and then shuts down.
Thanks for joining this thread, @snn.
Sending emails to your clients in your QB Non-Profit 2019 is my superiority. There are countless possible reasons why you are encountering this issue.
I'd also suggest visiting the articles provided by my colleague Pabz_L about the unrecoverable error in QBDT.

Hi!!
I have had this issue on both 2018 on my laptop and then with a new, very fast, machine with more memory than I will ever need.
Deleted Microsoft office and in both instances, all has worked perfectly since.
Hope this helps.
(Microsoft is ths issue and want $699 to open a ticket about their issue.)
Today is April 2nd, 2022 and the EXACT same issue is STILL happening! Support want s hundreds of dollars to "fix" their issue. This is getting to be insane! Over 2 years and the problem still exists!
2 years without a fix!! Today is April2, 2022!!
Why is this STILL NOT RESOLVED?????
Updating microsoft office is NOT the solution. I don't use it, don't have it installed and I'm STILL having the exact same problem! April 2nd, 2022!!!
I just ran into this error a few weeks ago and wasted 3 hours on phone with "tech support"
Finally I decided to just reload Microsoft Office since that is the closest relation to what is failing.
After that, it worked. Of course after every subsequent Windows update, it breaks again. I reload Office and it starts to work again.
Some have said they don't use Office, but it is worth a try.
I am having the same "out of memory" problem. Even when I click "help" to request assistance, it closes down the program. What can I do to get help? Yes, I have tried all of the "solutions" recommended in this string.
extremely frustrated

After 1.5 hrs on the phone with customer "support", my issue remains unresolved. I was told the problem is my computer has a "memory leak"! or the processor is too slow.
I installed QB on a different laptop that far EXCEEDS the system requirements and the same thing is happening. I even tried to set the second install with a different email but QB locks up (vs shuts down) when I click that I want to set up an email account.
On the original computer, I was getting the message "out of memory".... with the second install (new laptop), the software locks up when I want to set up an email account.
any valid help would be greatly appreciated!
I think I did an update a few weeks prior to this problem occurring. Is there any way to restore prior to an update?
Welcome back, @TN59.
I appreciate the time and efforts you exerted to fix your issue regarding the out of memory error in the QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). But don't worry, I want to ensure this issue is taken care of.
First off, you'll want to know that there isn't an option to restore prior updates in QBDT.
I understand that this may cause your issue with the error. However, I still recommend reaching out to our QuickBooks Support Team again. This way, they can perform an in-depth investigation of this issue and create an investigation ticket if other users are experiencing the same.
As always, feel free to visit our QuickBooks Community help website if you need tips and related articles in the future.

SOLVED
When you have the qbmapi64 error dont click OK
just open task manager, look for qbmapi64, click properties and checkmark the box "Run as administrator"
Make sure to click Apply and save.
it worked for me
Thank you. We were also able to fix this issue this way. We had to close out of Quickbooks to try this again after changing the "Run as Administrator" box.
We would restate the steps as
1. Try to email the invoice. Once you get the error message -
2. Open Task Manager (click on the Windows Start Menu and type Task to find it).
3. Details tab. Look for qbmapi64. Left click to select it. Right click and select Properties.
4. In Properties click on the Compatibility tab. Check the "Run as Administrator" box. Apply. OK.
5. Close out of the QB error and dialog boxes and out of QB itself.
6. Open QB again and email the invoice.
This worked for sending emails, but not for making changes to the preferences to send emails. WHY does QB make it so difficult to use their software?
Hello there, @dakidd.
I would appreciate it if you could explain further about your concern. Are you getting the same error when changing preferences? What are you trying to change?
Feel free to comment below with additional details of your concern for me to provide the best answer. I'm always here to help. Have a great day.
We have encountered the exact same error with a fresh install of Windows 11 Pro using Quickbooks 2022 and having Microsoft Office 2022. We kept receiving the QBmapi64 error and would not send invoices after 4-5 were sent. We have done a variety of troubleshooting and even ran the QBmapi64 program in Administrator mode, rebooted and the error reappeared after the restart of Quickbooks and sending 4-5 more invoices. We even increased the virtual memory to 20GB to help with memory cache for the emails and that barely seemed to help.
Reinstall office. After any kind of update or change to windows or QB you will probably get the error. Have office downloaded and ready to reinstall.
Everything is freshly installed on a new SSD and this is troublesome that fresh installs would still create incompatibility. I noticed that Quickbooks does not provide a compatibility option for anything above Windows 8? That is a problem that Quickbooks should've remedied a decade ago. I can try to re-install Office, however, this should not be the solution to reinstall Office every single time a Windows update or Quickbook update is processed. That would be at least one time a week that a change would force me to reinstall Office and that is not feasible or realistic for businesses. We use IMAP on Office and by default, Microsoft purges emails over 2 weeks old if we are not able to disable the NIC interface before it synchronizes and then manually disable the purge setting. Continuing to re-install would potentially create a catastrophic purge of an email account every time we had to re-install Office. This is becoming a tremendous waste of time and from what we can see, this has been an ongoing issue for over 4 years. Microsoft makes the Operating System, it is up to Quickbooks to create their software to properly interface and integrate with the Microsoft Operating Systems, not the other way around. I will re-install Office and will respond with our status.
Thanks for getting involved with this thread, MM143.
Our investigation mentioned earlier in this thread was resolved a few years back. Intuit's Product Investigations team identified that the error is caused by an older release of Microsoft Office. You can check on Microsoft's website for detailed information about upgrading their products, or reach out to their support team if necessary.
If you're already using an up-to-date version of Microsoft Office, you'll want to get in touch with our Customer Care team and reference the prior investigation (INV-45546). They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment, conduct further research with you, and create an investigation ticket if necessary.
They can be reached while you're signed in.
Here's how:
Be sure to review their support hours so you'll know when agents are available.
I'll be here to help if there's any additional questions. Have an awesome Wednesday!
