QBO reports decimal places

Hi there, JAM3guitar. I appreciate your input from every angle.

I've replicated this issue in my sample QuickBooks Online (QBO) account, and it seems to have worked. Since it appears that my actual percentage of Change is 9.4519% in which on my report, it is showing 9.45% on the CHANGE column. 

To investigate why this behaviour is happening on your report, I advise contacting our Customer Care Team. Checking the root cause of this requires tools, like screen sharing, that only them has. They can also create an investigation ticket if other customers are experiencing the same thing. Ensure to review their support hours so, you'll know when agents are available.

As for your other concern in changing the number of decimal places to zero, right now it's unavailable. Since the decimal point is set as default in the program. I know how the feature you're looking for would be beneficial to your business. I called QBO support and the phone rep was not able to help me. I am attaching a screen shot of what I am talking about. You will note that every single number in the % CHANGE column ends in .00%. This is because each calculation has been rounded to the nearest whole integer. This would be appropriate if there were no decimal places displayed, but since it is displayed to two places, the calculation should be accurate to the one-hundredths place.

We want to make sure all of our customer's concerns will be resolved as soon as possible. And this is not the kind of experience we want you to feel with our support. I know how helpful if there are no decimal places displayed on your transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO). So, I'll take note of this idea.

This last response did not address my question. I understand that you do not offer the ability to change the number of decimal places. However, that is not what I am asking about.

Please re-read my last post carefully. It says that the numbers provided in the % CHANGE are not correct. The numbers provided all end in .00%. This is not correct. For example, look at the first line. 420 divided by 470 is not 89.00%. To two decimal places, it is 89.36%. If there were no decimal places, it would be 89%. However, since you are displaying two decimal places, the answer should be correct to two decimal places.

Yes, you're correct. QuickBooks displays two decimal places. And I'd like to redirect you to the best support group available to get this addressed right away.

Since QuickBooks doesn't calculate the decimals places on your reports accurately, I highly recommend contacting our Phone Support Team. I understand that you already contacted them before, but they're the best support group to handle this concern. As mentioned by my colleague MirriamM, they have the necessary tools that can help check this matter further and get this resolved immediately.

I feel like no one is taking ownership of this issue. I've already tried once on the phone and didn't get anywhere. Why should I spend another half hour of my time on this?

I've explained very clearly what the problem is and have provided an example that illustrates it. I would think that you would have the capability of passing this along to the appropriate channels and making it easier for your customers.

I can add some clarifications about the decimal places on your reports,  JAM3guitar.

The % of Budget column is the percentage margin of your budget that is earned or spent. I've tried this report on a sample file and this is the result. See the attached screenshot below for your visual guide.

Since your report is rounding decimal off to zero, there could be some issues with the data. I highly recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online Team. I know you've already called them. However, they can create a case and forward it to our Product Team for further investigation.

Thank you for your reply. Your example shows what I would expect from the report. The fact that my reports do not display the same number of decimal places means that there likely is a setting somewhere that needs to change (it's hard to imagine an error with my data being the cause). Unfortunately, the phone rep was not able to help me.

I left a message using the gear icon (Profile/Feedback) as instructed by the phone rep who spent a half hour on a screen share with me. I am hopeful that someone can assist me eventually.

I feel like we should be friends! I just posted an issue I'm having with a TSheets "hours by decimal" report I have been on the pone every day this week, explaining in PAINFUL detail and posting on here ... and I feel like there is no ownership available --- from my standpoint I would think there would be SOMEONE who writes the code for these programs that would be VERY interested in these issues but they don't seem to get to that person!
