QUICK BOOKS SCAM

Just recieved a call from a guy named "John" stating he was with quickbooks and was calling us because we need to update our system from the 2023 version or we will lose access to quickbooks online. (we use desktop) The caller ID showed up as 800 BOOKS HELP. He gave a call back number of [PII removed]. He had a heavy Indian accent clearly calling from a call center and was very evasive when I was grilling him trying to get more information out of him. Keep any eye out. He called us twice because we hung up on him the first time.

QUICK BOOKS SCAM

Thanks for providing a detailed account of the call you experienced, Nina. I appreciate your vigilance in sharing this issue. I want to assure you that we greatly value the security and safety of our customer's QuickBooks (QB) data.

First, I'd like to inform you that our QB Support Team will only initiate a contact if you request a call back from them. If you didn't, and they're trying to tell you that you need to update your system or you will lose access, then this could be a scam call. I recommend reporting this to our Security Department. Here's how:

  1. Visit this link: https://security.intuit.com/contact-us.
  2. Search for the Report Technical Support Scams section.
  3. Tap the Email Security button.

To determine suspicious activity, phishing scams, and potential fraud, please refer to this article: Identify suspicious activity.

Additionally, I'll share this link to guide you about QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policies: QBDT.

Rest assured that our dedicated team will actively review this situation and take all necessary steps to address potential vulnerabilities. If you have further concerns or need help managing QBDT tasks, please click the reply button. Your peace of mind is important to me, Nina. I'm fully committed to safeguarding your information.

QUICK BOOKS SCAM

@NinaRodriguez

After so many years, Intuit can't solve this problem in a proper way. Log into CAMPS (not Intuit Account) and change your phone number. Then consider renewing your license through a partner.
