Would it be possible for you to post a download link to the prior version (R4) of the software? This would help us greatly in the interim while your programmers figure out this bug. Thanks
Hi,
Would it be possible for you to post a download link to the previous (R4) version of QB Desktop Premier Plus 2022? This would help me immensely while your programming team works to fix the bug in the R5 release. Thanks
-Andy
Exact Same Problem! I have read the suggested steps, and many people have found it to be a waste of time to muck with the Tool Kit.
I need a fix. Today I had 12 crashes. Works now but who knows for how long. Can't work like this. How do I revert to QB 2021 while you fix your issues?
Need a solution now!!! HELP
Hello there, @IT_Andy. Let's figure out, together, if it's possible to download the previous (R4) version of QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) after updating it to the latest one.
The QBDT software is updated regularly to give you a better experience and fix issues. When you've downloaded the latest release (R5), you can no longer go back to the previous one. That's why it's impossible for us to post a download link for the previous (R4) version of QBDT.
With that being said, I would encourage you to always secure a copy or make a backup of your company file. You can pull up the one you have prior to the update so you can get back to business while our programming team works to fix the latest version of QBDT.
Also, you may want to check out this article in case you need a reference to know what's new and improved in the latest updates of QBDT 2022: Release notes for QuickBooks Desktop 2022.
Please don't hesitate to keep me posted in the comments if there's anything else you need or questions about managing your company file in QBDT. I'm always here to help. Take care, and I wish you continued success, @IT_Andy.

If you were using QBD 2021 before, reinstall and use the latest version of the backup file when upgrading to QBD 2022.
If you were using QBD 2019 or QBD 2020, utilize the trial version for QBD 2020 and 2021 for up to 90 days or more for the time being. You can purchase the one time license for QBD 2021 or wait for the upcoming QBD 2023.
it doesn't let you turn off auto update but you can uncheck every single one of them and save that preference right where it is! :)
If you use the link I have provided you can choose what your and version you want and/or may need. This allows you to choose previous versions which were already settled in and debugged. Follow along and answer the questions asked and the process will take you through the steps you need to get the download that you would like to use. It isn't just to the "Newest QuickBooks Desktop Software" It is for quite a few years back and all the versions you could ask for. I am unsure if I can locate the R4 release I searched for it before this post with no luck. If you log into your Camps Account you can download and install all the previous versions of QBDT that you have ever purchased from us.

I can verify that this does work and will allow you to go about daily life until the latest release of 2022 is completely fixed. I have fixed multiple users today and yesterday using this. It does work and can help you if you follow my previous post on how to do it.

Exact same issue for me.

Our 2022 QB was crashing too, it was really making me mad. I just used the latest version of the desktop tool hub and the quick fix under program problems seems to have solved the problem(so far). Will update if it happens again.
I am having the same issue. Has there been a fix?
You are lucky, I must have downloaded that tool and reinstalled QuickBooks more than a dozen times. The R5 update is still broke on one of my servers!
I appreciate you for posting here in the Community, @A1elect.
Let’s sort this matter out to get you back to business in no time. Thus, we can use the Verify and Rebuild data utilities. Having said that, we can verify and correct the most typical data errors in your company file. Please make sure your QuickBooks Desktop is up to date as well.
Here’s how:
If the issue persists, I recommend you reach out to our Technical Support Team. Our phone representative has the option to securely pull up your account and double-check why this behavior is happening in your company.
Also, they can thoroughly check and initiate a further investigation of the behavior.
Keep me posted if you have further concerns about QuickBooks. Stay safe!
As everybody in this thread as mentioned over and over, the problem is not with a company file, it's with Quickbooks. You can rebuild and verify the company file as many times as you want. The problem is the R5.
After contacting support and going back and forth with the QB Data Services and realizing it's not my company file either, the "temporary" fix which is working for me is the [Alt] key. Before pressing "OK" to load the company file, hold down the [Alt] key on the keyboard then press "OK" and continue to hold that key down until QB loads the stuff on the left. You'll notice the built-in browser "Home" window doesn't load. That's what's been causing QB to crash. You can click the "Home" shortcut on the left to open that window after QB loads. Until there's a patch for this issue, that's what I've been doing to get around this.
The fixes that were suggested did not help at all. Still crashing.
Tried the fixes that were suggested. Still crashing
Still crashing
Someone shared this workaround and you should try it,
------------------
Not the best solution, but I think this is one way around it. Works if you're not dependent on the Home page window that shows all the workflow icons when opening QB.
Your company file is likely set to open the "Home Page" window when you launch QB, Try to 'X' it out as soon as it opens to prevent QB from looking for IE11. (you have to do it quickly like you're playing a game) Then go to Edit -> Preferences -> Desktop View and disable "Show Home page...when opening..." While you're there, you might as well go to "General" and put a check mark on "Turn off pop-up messages for products and services.
Thanks for following up with the Community, A1elect. I appreciate you performing each of my colleague's troubleshooting steps.
Since QuickBooks is still crashing after troubleshooting with your QuickBooks Tool Hub and Verify/Rebuild utilities, I'd recommend getting in touch with our Customer Care team directly. They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment, conduct further research, and create an investigation ticket if necessary.
They can be reached while using QuickBooks.
Here's how:
Be sure to review their support hours so you'll know when agents are available. They can also be reached through our website if you're unable to contact them through QuickBooks.
If there's any questions, I'm just a post away. Have a lovely day!
