Welcome back, Rob.

Allow me to share some insights about the System Requirements for QuickBooks for Mac 2021.

As of the moment, we haven't received any updates yet that MacOS Ventura 13.0 will run seamlessly for QB for Mac 2021. That said, we can't guarantee it will run without any issues.

Listed below are the minimum system requirements for QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2021:

  • A minimum of Mac OS X v10.15 (Catalina) is needed to install.
  • CD/DVD drive or internet connection to download the product.
  • Product registration required.
  • Intel processor, Core 2 Duo or higher.
  • Multi-user Server: Intel Core 2 Duo or higher processor to run a server.
  • 2 GB RAM (4 GB RAM recommended).
  • 250 MB of available storage.
  • Macintosh-compatible printer if you plan to print invoices, checks, deposit slips, lists, purchase orders, mailing labels, reports, or graphs.

Thanks for getting back with the Community, RLBeckham.

QuickBooks for Mac 2021 has a minimum system requirement of Mac OS X v10.15, also known as Catalina. As long as you have that version or a newer one, like Mac OS Ventura, you'll be able to install and use it.

You'll also want to confirm your computer meets the program's other minimum system requirements:

  • 250 MB of available storage.
  • Product registration required.
  • Intel processor, Core 2 Duo or higher.
  • 2 GB RAM (4 GB RAM recommended).
  • Use Intuit Checks if you plan to print checks.
  • CD/DVD drive or internet connection to download the product.
  • Multi-user Server: Intel Core 2 Duo or higher processor to run a server.
  • Macintosh-compatible printer if you plan to print invoices, checks, deposit slips, lists, purchase orders, mailing labels, reports, or graphs.

I've also included a detailed resource about system requirements which may come in handy moving forward: System requirements

If there's any additional questions, I'm just a post away. Have an awesome day!

@RLBeckham

I would recommend waiting for your OS upgrade until next month. Let other users be early adopters.

I believe the question was not would it run, but will QB Desktop for Mac (2021) run compatibly and (most importantly) error-free on OS Ventura. Please confirm yes or no.

I note that only one update from QB has been released, and apparently it does not correct the invoicing issue - something that is rather important to we small businesses.

Let me address your follow-up questions, GK5919.

To give clarification to the preceding response. It refers to QuickBooks Desktop for Mac (2021), which is compatible with OS Ventura.

Since the update didn't correct the invoicing issue that you have, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Mac Support if you need further guidance with the process. Our representatives can request for a viewing session to guide you and make sure your data is secured.

Thanks, but I have not yet upgraded to OS Ventura given that others who have have experienced invoicing problems. I don't want to experience a repeat of the kind I had when Monterrey came out and I could not invoice for five weeks. I had to prepare invoices manually using MS Word - highly unprofessional. :-(. I'm monitoring the QB Community to ensure things are as they should be before I upgrade my OS. With one QB Admin response saying it's "mostly compatible" doesn't give me full confidence that my Accounting will go haywire, especially during the holiday period when I create the most invoices.

If you are telling it it is now 100% compatible, then I will. Failing that, I will keep waiting. I see there have only been two QB updates (to R11.2) so at least QB is fixing the bugs.

Quickbooks Desktop for Mac 2021 and compatibility with macOS Ventura 13.0

I have been following this thread waiting to hear if Quickbooks Mac  2021 works completely with Ventura.

I have read Oct & Nov. messages about how it mostly works, but the last posts I see still say invoices are a problem.

It is January now...  Are invoices in QB Mac 2021 now working correctly now under Ventura?

I have to have invoices.

Is it now safe to upgrade to Ventura?

I'm here to share some information about using macOS Ventura in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Mac 2021, @RLBeckham

Just to clarify, are you having an issue with printing or saving the template as PDF with a logo in your invoice? If so, after releasing an update for Ventura, our developers discovered a few problems. Users may consequently encounter problems with menus, tabs, and printing. Don't worry. A long-lasting solution is already being developed.

As a workaround, edit your invoice template. Here's how:

  1. Right-click (Ctrl+click if you don’t have right-click enabled) on the logo.
  2. Under Arrange click Send Backward.
  3. Do this a couple of times to make sure it’s as back as it can be.
  4. Once you’ve done this, just go to File, then click Save and close out of the Layout Designer.

Try printing the invoice again using the template you were editing.

However, if you haven't updated the system to Ventura, you can check out these resources to learn how to fix crashing and printing issues in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac:

Above you say...

"Don't worry. A long-lasting solution is already being developed. "

Any idea on the time-line on this?

I have not updated to Ventura.  I would like to, but not if it blows up my ability to do invoices or if I have to do a bunch of work arounds to invoice someone.
