Problem: I can't get the QB server manager to start its services.
System: Windows server 2019. all windows updates installed as of today. all updates installed for quickbooks as of today. This is a brand new server.
Troubleshooting so far: Uninstalled QB and reinstalled. Ran file doctor on the file and all other options.
Opened test company file.
since the error was coming from sqlany 17 and was reporting for a while that it could not be found installed SQLany17 developer from SAP.
rebooted several times.
confirmed that the data folder for the files is shared and the QB user has permissions.
change the logon for the service from the QB user to local system.
turned off the firewall wall.
copied the file company file im trying to use to another server and confirmed it works there.
Any assistance would be appreciated please don't tell me to run the file doctor though.
I know that having to go through multiple troubleshooting steps and not having any of them work can be a real pain, especially when you have more important things to be doing, adamabel1.
I appreciate you for performing some troubleshooting steps to get this resolved. Aside from the steps you've performed, we can uninstall QuickBooks Data Server Manager to refresh the connection. Here's how:
Then, rename the installation folders. If you don’t see the Application Data or Program Data folder, you need to display hidden files and folders or search for files using Windows. We can only uninstall or rename the QuickBooks version folder found in the Intuit folder: C:\Program Data\Intuit if you have other Intuit apps installed on your computer. Here's how:
Once done, reinstall QuickBooks Database Server Manager. Here's an article you can refer to for more details about reinstalling Database Server Manager and setting up file sharing. If you already did these steps and still getting the same result, I'd suggest contacting our Technical Support Team to help you with this one. They have all the necessary tools to determine the cause and guide you with a fix. You can check out our support hours to ensure we can assist you on time. Here's how:

Does Quickbooks pro plus support server 2019 of windows? That seems to be what this is saying is that it can't. though I have this installed on another 2019 server just fine with the QB hosting working.
Hello, adamabel1.
We appreciate you sharing the information found in the QuickBooks server utility log. I also appreciate what you did to make QuickBooks accessible on a hosted server.
QuickBooks Pro Plus 2022 is compatible with Windows Server 2019 if you're using it. A feature of QuickBooks called QBDBMgrN, also known as QuickBooks Database Server Manager, enables multiple users to access the database and company files stored on a hosted server.
The message "qbdbmgrn not running on this computer server" could have been caused by several things. Look at the reasons listed below:
I'll provide more troubleshooting instructions to resolve this. Make sure your Windows Firewall is updated first.
Here's how:
If the QuickBooks Database Server Manager Service is still unable to start, let's restart it. I'll show you how.
I strongly advise getting in touch with our QuickBooks Desktop Support if the problem continues. They have the tools necessary to conduct a screen-sharing to further investigate the underlying cause of it.
Additionally, I suggest reading this article for more guidance on QBDT hosting and multi-user mode: Hosting your company data in multi-user mode in QuickBooks Desktop.
Please leave a comment below if there is any other way I can assist you with QuickBooks. I would be delighted to offer assistance.
well that did not work either. Ultimately I decided I have spent way to much time on this and just delete the VM I was using for this and made a new one from the exact same template and then it worked. No idea what was causing the problem and neither will Intuit because your logging and error messages are terrible.
