I have a company file in a 2023 version of quickbooks that I have backed up (online, not local) from earlier this year.
I upgraded to the multi-user 2024 version and now I'm trying to restore the backup file for that company.
It's only restoring the ND file even though I check all three boxes for the file types to restore.
Anybody know a solution? Thanks
Can you still open your working file on QB Desktop 2023?
The 2023 version is on another computer. I can try to open the working file on it tomorrow, but I remember it was working fine on that computer/2023 version before I closed the company file. Never had an issue with it.
Also, I restored another company file recently that was on the 2023 version on this new computer/2024 version, and all three files were restored successfully. Just a note if that helps.
It's great to have you here in the QuickBooks Community, @n1njah. Let me share more information about your backup company file.
QuickBooks ND files are only used to configure the network to transfer files in a multi-user setup. You will notice this file when you set up the QuickBooks database manager as it determine which database is running on the system.
It is possible that the specific company file encountered an error during the backup process. We need to verify that the backup file is not corrupted and has been completed successfully.
I recommend opening the company file on your 2023 product and creating a brand-new backup file. Then, we can restore it to your 2024 desktop version. Here's how:
