Quickbooks Online Advanced vs Quickbooks Enterprise

Our company is using QB Enterprise - Gold and would like to know if there are any glaring limitations QBO-Advanced may have in comparison. Our company is a distributor and sells millwork: doors, windows, cabinetry, mouldings, etc both retail and wholesale. We have 244 accounts, 5,277 total names (vendors/customers), 11 employees/users, 1,432 items (both inventory and non-inventory items), and 7 different price rules on inventory items. We handle payroll in house and use a few custom reports, sales forecasting, and our company file is being hosted on the cloud.

One thing that might be more unique is how we use non-inventory items: the windows, doors, cabinetry, and hardware we purchase from manufacturers are all purchased and sold as non-inventory items. All doors use "CUS DOOR", all cabinetry use "CUS CABINET" and so on. We use them this way because every door, window, and cabinet are all custom and different sizes/designs/etc, and it would be way too much work to create an inventory item for something that might be sold 1 time. When we receive those custom items, they go into a designated asset account just like an inventory item does. At the end of each month, I run a sales report on every custom item we sold, and then manually move those specific costs from their asset account to their COGS account. We do this so we can have an accurate P&L month to month. It's time-consuming, but it works.

So, given the above info on some of our operations and company file size, does anyone see or know of any issues or limitations there could be if we were to try QBO-Advanced? I appreciate your time and input.

Chart of accounts: You have the freedom to add unlimited accounts, ensuring that you can track and manage your finances with precision.

Tags: Maximum of 300.

LeizyIM, thank you for your response... after reading into QBO-A a little more and speaking with a sales rep, the deal breaker was that QBO does not have Sales Orders... which I'm a little surprised by. I understand there are apps that can handle that aspect, but I don't want all of our employees forced into learning app software in addition to QBO, and I wasn't very impressed with the "work-arounds" some companies use. Perhaps in the future QBO will add sales orders, but until then, we will stick with Enterprise. Thanks again.

I second this. It seems like quite a miss that QBO does not have sales orders or keep track of back-ordered items. I was very excited to switch from QB Desktop Premier to QB Online, but the inventory limitations and lack of sales orders prevented me from doing so. I would love to see these added in the future.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) doesn't have the feature of sales orders or keep track of back-ordered items. It would be best if you could relay a feature suggestion or your comments about the charges of the forms to our product developers. Your input is vital in guiding our Product Development team's decisions on prioritizing features for future updates. Here's how:

Sign in to your QBO account.
Click the Gear icon, then select Feedback.
Type in your feature request.
Click Next to submit.

Before anything else, know that the Gear icon is a section inside QBO where other options and features can be selected. Also, it's where you can click the Feedback option to send recommendations to our Product Development Team. With that said, you can access these options if you have an active QBO subscription account.

We also have another way to send a recommendation to our engineers if you don't have a QBO subscription and company. We'll write down the steps to get you going:

Click Give feedback.

You will need to have a 3rd party inventory management app with those features to integrate with QBO. You should stick with QB Desktop unless you have another concern.
