Either you have no clue what quick books is doing is just trying to play dumb. Support team i have spoken to, useless. Nothing anyone can do, that is the cost.
I asked if i had 500 employees the cost would be $1000 just for the employee fee. He said yes. What i do not understand is the employee fee, quickbooks is doing nothing for me for the $2 per employee, i already pay for quickbooks payroll.
Hi SashaMC
No reply? Why not? Because I am right?
I am a Quickbooks Ambassador and I used to support the program and what they provided. But its become clear to me that this company cares about price-hike cash-grabs without providing and additional services. They believe that since they have all of our financial data, receipts and records we wont switch away from them because it would be too difficult. For the most part they are right, it is extremely hard. But on the principal of the matter I hate this company. It brought me so much joy to point out the insane price jump and see it shared on their public page when they were trying to advertise the software in the new year. HAha! Here is a screenshot so you can enjoy it too:
You are increasing your price 10% (again) when the inflation is around 5%. You should be ashamed of yourself. This is so lame.
When the world went from Desktop software to rent-an-access Cloud-based you lost your autonomy and control. Now all your data is in the Cloud and it is simply too difficult to go back again.
Giving the Software companies total control over your information is part of the plan. Now they can do what they like. My old QB 2008 did everything I needed and cost me $200 about 14 years ago. There used to be free updates subsidized by an ever-expanding user base buying the latest program.
But now the old QB is no longer supported and of course it was a terrible business model for the mfg. Cloud-based software is a license to print money with no pesky retail involvement or mark-up or packaging. It's beautiful - IF you are Inuit or Microsoft etc.
I switched to QuickBooks online in 2019. I am a Hunter Douglas dealer and it was a special contract for Hunter Douglas and Their new integration with Intuit. I received a notice that I would have a price increase of almost 50%. I reached out several times with support and I am not happy with the results. My last chat I was told that after your my year I would have a price increase, however I’ve been paying the same price for the last four years. For the money I’m paying I can’t even get find someone to help me figure this out!
What are the other options out there?

How much will your bill be?
Good morning, @Bjank.
I appreciate you chiming on this thread and expressing your concern with your QuickBooks Online account.
The best route to get this figured out, would be to reach out to our Customer Support Team, but by phone. This will allow me to check your account for some additional information.
If you'd like to see the different versions available for QuickBooks Online, check out this guide: Pricing and Products.
Feel free to reach back out if you have any other questions or concerns. We're always here to lend a helping hand. Take care!
Hi Candice,
thank you for the information. I have received several different answers about this. Lots of being passed around and not a great experience. I was very frustrated and disappointed about the service I received. I was finally given the phone number 1-800-446-8848 and got someone that actually looked into my account. She said the email is incorrect and that my charges would stay as they have been. Because of the different answers I received I’m still not comfortable that this is correct. I hope it is. I guess I won’t know until the charge comes out in May.

I too am looking for another service-I don't even need payroll BUT my price is going to subscription and is far too expensive for me, and what I actually need. I've had it with QBooks!
The continued price hikes are SUPER BAD!!! Last year they charged $550 for the annual renewal that was $300 last year! It used to be you just have to buy the new version every three years - this is REALLY BAD and I need to find another accounting software to switch to! They don't appreciate us at all they just want to squeeze us dry with no warning or explanation! Intuit was become evil.
If you're still using QBD 2021 or another older version, you can still purchase a new one-time license for QBD 2021. Your options are very limited to switching from QBD Pro/Premier to another desktop solution.
How do I go about purchasing a 1 time license to get off this subscription based stuff?
Contact us in private for details.
Agreed. I am extremely disappointed withe the continued price increases for a product that is not changing. I paid for the software, and don't mind paying for ongoing service, but this seems to be to be like double-billing customers -- something we do not do to our customers. To me this is a question of Intuit ethics.
I am getting messages to contact them in private - so I need to wait on hold and try to finally get hold of someone to negotiate with me for each of my 6 clients?! Do like I have time for this?! I need an affordable product that doesn't cause me to use time I don't have to beg for a decent deal while they are price gouging for shocking amounts? Is this how we do business?!
I am already on QBD2022 - they made us upgrade....
That is insane - this is REALLY BAD PR - almost as bad as the lack of support for the covid monies during pandemic! they just left us hanging and we had to blog each other with what we came up with! And now they more than double prices! They just charged me $550 for what was $300 last year - annual renewal desktop people didn't have to pay - I just bought the new version every 3 years for $300 but now I guess it's $550/year?! And that's aside from the $650 payroll service every year! BIG CHANGE
I actually got a renewal notice telling me when the charge would hit but not how much! I was expecting a bit over the $299 last year and it hit for $550! SO BAD
Why contact you in private - why not just stop playing games and set a price that's fair!

Are you addressing the question to me? Keep in mind, we are not Intuit team.
Nice recommendation. You made it in 2021. I have Desktop, and just got a reminder that you are switching to Online subscriptions only, and my service is about to be discontinued. How many people read your recommendation and paid for Desktop only to lose it a year later? Trash company corners the market.
You can still purchase a one-time license for QBD 2021 and use it until May 2024. Otherwise, purchase a one-time license for QBD 2022 Accountant edition.
A customer-driven company, that doesn't care about its customers. Simple as that.
My subscription (annual) also increase 25% out of the blue, with the excuse of "enhancement and innovation".
I think I'm lost here.... does a tech company like Intuit should be always be innovating? WRONG. They pass these innovations costs to their customers., because they don't care, simple as that
The reason Intuit exists is for their customers, but they don't think it that way.
Being a 10+ year customer of them, it's time to move one. It was nice meeting you QBO.
Never giving my business to Intuit again. What a joke.
