Quickbooks for Mac 2020 estimates are showing 5 decimal places for the rate if I do any kind of markup. Instead of showing the rate as something like 10.123456 I want it so show as 10.12. And this isn't just showing on my end, it actually prints out with 5 decimal places. I don't want clients to see this as it's confusing and honestly kind of ridiculous. What settings do I need to change?
Hi there, @leenahw.
At this time, QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac is designed with five (5) decimal places in the Rate column when creating transactions. Let me provide some information about why you're having multiple decimal places on your estimate.
The Rate column automatically calculates based on the quantity and total amount you entered in your estimate. This will include multiple decimal places to view the total cost divided from the total amount.
I can see how beneficial for you and your company to change the decimal places. However, the option to get this to round up is currently not available in QBDT for Mac.
For now, you can visit our blog site so you'll be able to get the latest news about QuickBooks and what our Product Care Team is working on.

It is mentioned that there is no solution to stop the 5 decimal places on estimates for MAC what if it is not for MAC?
Good to see you in this thread, Gabrielled.
In QuickBooks Desktop for Windows, the cost showing on your estimates is based on the calculation of the quantity and total amount you entered in your estimate. It includes multiple decimal places to view the total cost divided from the total amount. If you wanted to change the multiple digits after the decimal, you can manually round them off and enter by hand.
You may also consider using some templates to modify the details. By doing so, you can customize how the information of the estimate includes. To learn how to personalize your template, see this article: Use and customize form templates.
But if you're using the Advanced pricing feature, you have the option to choose the rounding of your decimal places from the settings.
Let me show you how:

Hello,
QB is automatically rounding our 5 decimals places to what appears to be a decimal percentage is it able to recognize. Is there any way to turn this off?
For example entry for .88235 becomes .88333 & 2.70588 becomes just 2.70. We would like to entry was stay as .88235
Hey Rebeccam2,
Nice to see you here in the Community! As my colleague mentioned above, you can turn on the Advanced Pricing feature and set your rounding preferences. However, this feature is only available to QuickBooks Enterprise Subscriptions. If you have this subscription, then please continue to follow the instructions.
For more information on how to enable it and set price rules, this link is very handy. Please let me know if you have any questions about QuickBooks. My team and I are always here to lend a helping hand. I hope you have a great day!
Hello,
We are on QB Desktop. There is no setting to change so it doesn't round the entry? We are using an importer to QB and when the entry get's posted it is automatically rounding it to a different number than what was processed.
We just upgraded to QB desktop 22.0 and now our employee hours are showing to 5 decimals on our p/r detail report and is not footing correctly on their timesheets.. very aggravating.
Hello, gfoster.
I understand how impacting it can be not having an accurate rate on their timesheets. I'd like to take this opportunity and give some details about decimal rate in QBDT for Mac.
By default, the program for QuickBooks Desktop for Mac is designed with five (5) decimal places in the transaction. That being said, the cost automatically calculates based on the quantity and total amount you entered in your transactions.
You might want to use some form templates so you can modify the details. QuickBooks contains the customization tools you need to make them so. You can refer to this guide on how to complete the process about Customize Form Templates. This article provides you steps on how to duplicate, export, or import your custom templates. It also includes a link on how to troubleshoot common issues when using and customizing templates at the bottom of the page.
I'm all ears if you have any other queries about QuickBooks. Just add the details in your response, and I swing back into action. Take care!
