Meant to type "Fortunately, this error did not affect other elements of the report structure such as the base report type, other settings & filters."
We are having a slightly different issue with reports, but it started right after this update was installed. When we attempt to run "Combine Reports from Multiple Companies", it crashes. We normally combine "Balanced Sheet Standard", "Profit & Loss Standard" and "Statement of Cash Flows". We've been able to run it with both "Balanced Sheet" and "Statement of Cash Flows" reports individually selected and it does generate the excel file, but then will usually crash with a random error code.
However any way we attempt to combine the "Profit & Loss Standard" will crash before it generates the excel file, also with a different error code each time.
I've tried KAVG's steps, resetting the updates, but it still crashes during the pulling stage/
Hi, everyone.
We've rolled out a new release that can fix the display issue of your memorized reports. Let me share the specifics to correct the customization settings and show the correct columns on your record.
First, ensure to update your QuickBooks Desktop version again to the latest release. Follow the steps below:
After that, navigate to the File menu to select Exit or click the X icon to close your company file.
Next, restart your computer to reboot and sync the new release components properly. Once done, reopen your QuickBooks Desktop company file.
I'm adding this article for more troubleshooting steps for reports opening unintended results: Fix memorized reports that open with unexpected results.
Furthermore, check out this reference to send reports regularly at recurring times: Set up and modify Scheduled Reports.
Should you run into further problems, please comment below. We're committed to ensuring a smooth experience. If you need additional guidance on personalizing reports, we'll be here to assist you.
Following this latest update, I was able to run the combined reports and it completed successfully.
Did all of this. Still didn't fix the issues.
The update didn't helped me, but I found a workaround to fix my memorizer report. I added all the available columns to the report and then removed the ones I didn't need by resizing the columns manually to the smallest size possible. This automatically removes the column. The check and uncheck options don't work properly; sometimes, when you check to display one column, another one appears, and the same issue occurs when you uncheck.
The update didn’t help me, but I found a workaround for my damaged memorized report. When new columns were added, my previous ones disappeared, and I couldn’t restore them through the customize report option. Adding new columns wasn’t working either, as it would either add different columns or ignore my action altogether.
My solution was to go to the customize report, select “All columns” to display everything, and then return to the report. I could then see all the columns, including the ones I needed. I manually resized the unnecessary columns to the smallest size, which effectively removed them.
This way, I restored my memorized report to its original state.
@Meir4 RE: The update didn't helped me, but I found a workaround...
Are you sure you have R13? Check the F2 dialog window for your release.
Also, note that if you tried to fix and then re-memorized the report using the broken R12, then it'll appear messed up in R13, because the R12 code is trash.
Where can i see if i have R12 or R13?, I follow all the steps mentioned above to get the latest update a few minutes ago
Press F2 while in quickbooks, and at the very top, it should have the update number. This latest update should be R13_51 for the update released today. R13_50 was the first update after it broke that tried to fix the reports but was only partially successful. I'm not sure what the initial build number was that broke the reporting, but it would have been R13_4?
@Meir4 RE: Where can i see if i have R12 or R13?
To open the F2 Product Information window, press the F2 key on your keyboard.
Logged in to my company through remote desktop, so shortcuts do not work. Is there any other way to see that info?
I asked a coworker with access to the main server, and he checked it for me. We now have R13_45. checked out for me, we have R13_45 now
Well, then that may be the issue. According to @tzshaner you need to get R13_51.
I'm not sure why QuickBooks is releasing multiple releases like this, all versions of R13. They used to bump the first two numbers with each public release, like R12, R13, R14. It was much better that way - easier to understand the release history and what you needed to get to be on the latest release.
Thank you. I followed your instructions and it worked.
I re-created ALL of our reports last week and they aren't working again.
Followed these steps and reports are still not working.
@mloudermilk323 RE: I re-created ALL of our reports last week and they aren't working again.
That's probably why they're broken again. Memorized reports saved using the broken code will be messed up after installing the latest build with the fix, because that broken code saved them wrong.
If you create a new memorized report then does it work as expected?
Some posts here mention the R12 update causing corrupted reports however for me R13_45 is causing corrupted reports
I am running QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus. R11_49 works fine.
This does not work for us.
I was finally able to force R13_51 upgrade thus resolving the corrupted reports issue for me. As others have suggested in this thread, it takes more than one Update, all while selecting "Reset Update" and rebooting computer in between each update.
The people that posted to this thread are awesome however the technical aspects of the forum are truly the worst I have ever seen and I am not surprised as it is designed by intuit. No way to edit your own post, no indication of which posts were replies to other posts and no way to enable a signature block indicating which version of QuickBooks or specific hardware a user is using.
I only pray that another software company comes along with a competing product with no loss of features and clean conversion process to port all data. I would jump ship in a second.
I do get updates, and I do not see the dialog warning box you are mentioning. Also, after processing the updates, I see "Nothing New downloaded" on all lines. Is this OK, or is something wrong?
its fine, i do have now the R13_51 version
Its a crazy game, after updating evrything get broken, and after trying all solutions nothing worked out, I have noo way to get back my report as before
Thank you for that workaround. Does anyone know how to fix the printing problem. Once the report has been done modifying the columns. When you go to print the data is missing from the columns. I have tried exporting it to excel but the system crashes each time :(. I have rebuild the data and restarted my computer several times.
Thanks for joining this thread, marta-spira-ca.
Since you're still encountering problems with printing reports, I'd recommend confirming you're using your product's latest release. You can do so with the steps in JamaicaA's post above.
If the printing problem continues while using your product's latest release, you can troubleshoot with the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
Here's how:
You can learn more about using the QuickBooks Tool Hub in our Fix common problems & errors article.
If you've performed each troubleshooting process, but printed reports still aren't displaying what they should after updating, you'll want to get in touch with our Customer Care team. They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment, conduct further research with you, and create an investigation ticket if necessary.
In regard to QuickBooks crashing when trying to export reports to Excel, you'll want to try some of the troubleshooting processes from our No error (QuickBooks just disappears while working) article. If it continues occurring, you can use the steps above to reach out Customer Care team.
Please feel welcome to send a reply if there's any questions. Have an awesome Thursday!
