I used QB many years ago, so I'm somewhat familiar with how to get around. For the first time, I'm setting up a company for myself. I've looked around the support site and I see some things that I'll dive into, but as a nonprofit (exempt), I wanted to make sure I don't miss anything. Any suggestions for setting up accounts, etc. as a nonprofit? Any recommended 'do this first' steps?
I'm using Quickbooks Desktop for Mac.
Thanks,
Chris

Hi, @SusCSRA.
Hope you’re doing great. I wanted to see how everything is going about setting up your nonprofit company file concern you had the other day. Was it resolved? Do you need any additional help or clarification? If you do, just let me know. I’d be happy to help you at any time.
Looking forward to your reply. Have a pleasant day ahead!
Thanks for all the information, Rubielyn_J. I'm doing some juggling, so I've not yet had the chance to look through all the resources you provided, but it looks pretty comprehensive. I'll post back after my review.
Cheers,
Chris
Hi,
I just got QB for Mac. I had the QB Non-profit edition for years and now I do not see that option in teh Mac edition.
I have found something online, but I can't find settings (gear icon) anywhere.
At this point I want my $ back and return to the PC version.
QBD Mac has the features similar to QBD Pro. You won't find the Non Profit feature on QBD Mac. You should ask the refund for your new license and buy QBD Premier instead. You can still buy a new one time license for QBD 2021 Premier from several partners.
Thank you for your reply! That is what I was afraid of.....have a beautiful new imac and can't use it for our non-profit. Wonder why QB wouldn't do Mac non-profit edition.
Thank you for your reply. That is what I was afraid of and the worst part is that Techsoup would not refund $ as this was a download version. Silly that Mac users have less option.
I'm in the same boat, but solved it by adding Parallels Windows to my MB Pro and installing QuickBooks Premier (PC) with the Nonprofit Edition. Clunky, but it works on the Mac so I don't have to keep two computers working and handy.
