Join nowI am receiving Unrecoverable Error 19878 11682 and Unrecoverable Error 00000 00000 messages on all of my QuickBooks files. The 19878 11682 error happens anytime I try to open a report. The 00000 00000 error generally happens when I'm trying to reconcile an account.
I have run QuickBooks File Doctor on two of the affected companies and no error was found. We have two licenses and my computer serves as the host. The second computer is not having any problems with the same companies. I have reinstalled QB and run all updates but the problem continues.
I'm using QuickBooks Accountant Desktop 2020.

I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you've tried to get rid of the unrecoverable errors, mjuby.
A QuickBooks unrecoverable error occurs when you're trying to open QuickBooks Desktop or while working on it. Let's try another troubleshooting step to get rid of these errors and get back working. Ensure to create a backup of your company file before proceeding with the process.
Solution 1:Identify how many users are affected by using a different log in credentials to open the same company file. If the error only happens in one specific user, that user log in credentials might be damaged. Recreate the damaged user. Please note that if there are no other users that can access your company file, we can proceed to solution 2.
Solution 2: Suppress your QuickBooks Desktop
If the problem continues, please check out the unrecoverable Error: General Troubleshooting Steps for additional solutions to fix the errors.
I'm also adding this unrecoverable error in QuickBooks Desktop for additional reference and guide.
Please let me know how the steps work. I want to make sure everything is taken care of for you.

I went through all of your steps, although I had already done most of them before. I was not able to find the "Clean Install Tool" in the QuickBooks Tool Hub, so I downloaded the program under "Advanced Tools" and ran it. I also followed the reset instructions for the Microsoft .NET Framework applications. Frankly, since I had already done most of this already, I had low expectations. However, after performing all of the steps the problem has been fixed! Not sure which step did the job, but I'm pleased this is finally resolved. Thank you!
I replied too soon. QB had consistently been crashing anytime I tried to display a report, so when I was able to pull up reports on two different companies I thought the problem was fixed. However, I just tried to reconcile a bank account, which was another trigger for crashing, and I go a Unrecoverable Error 00000 00000. I then restarted QB and tried to run a report and the Unrecoverable Error 19878 11682 returned. Looks like I still have a problem.
Hello @mjuby,
We can continue our troubleshooting steps by opening QuickBooks as an Administrator to fix the error message. To do so, right-click on the QuickBooks icon on your Desktop, then select Run as Administrator.
But if it doesn't work, you can repair QuickBooks to update the installation permissions so you can open the software.
In addition, here's an article you can read to learn more about how you can repair QuickBooks: Repair your QuickBooks Desktop for Windows.
Lastly, I've got you this helpful article for ideas about how to customize a report: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.
Keep me posted in the comments if you have any other questions. I'll be here to lend a hand.
After the holiday weekend I tried opening reports in QuickBooks but found the error was still crashing the program. I then tried opening QuickBooks as an Adminstrator and the reports opened without the error. I opened another company and it also functioned correctly. I then closed QB and reopened in normal mode (not as an Administrator) and it still seems to be functioning correctly. Is it possible that simply opening QB as an Administrator could resolve whatever issue was locking QB up when trying to open a report?
UPDATE: QuickBooks locked up again this afternoon when I tried to open a report. I opened QB as Administrator and was able to open the report without crashing. At this point it appears that opening QB as Administrator is a workaround to my problem, but I'd like a solution that didn't require this additional step.
