RE: "Update Credit Card" message

QuickBooks is prompting me to update my credit card, so I click on the button to do so, I login, select my name so it can verify my information, then I verify my email and phone information, then it sends a confirmation code to my phone, then takes me back to the login screen saying I "have to use the right Intuit account to proceed", when I only have one Intuit account, hence I already know I am using the right one. So I login the second time, select my name again, but the second time I do this it gives me an error message saying "The email and phone number don't match with the name you selected on the previous page. To resolve this issue, select Contact Us on the top right corner of this page." I don't HAVE another Intuit account with another name or phone number, so I don't know why I am getting this from QuickBooks. Can someone please help? I am using QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus 2022.

RE: "Update Credit Card" message

It isn't the kind of experience we want you to come across, billastonj.

You may be experiencing some data-damage issue that causes the errors on the file.

You can resolve it by running the verify and rebuild steps

If the system has not recognized any damage, update your credit card information again. Check out this article for more details: Update Billing info.

I'll be adding this article as your reference to change the payment method in QuickBooks Desktop: Change, manage or update your Intuit account with CAMPs.

I'll be around whenever help is needed. I've got your back!

RE: "Update Credit Card" message

The "verify and rebuild" found nothing wrong with any of my data.

The "Update Billing Info" link does the same thing I described in my original post (I login, select my name, type in my email and phone number, and it returns me to the login screen, saying I "need to use the right Intuit account to continue", as if I HAD another Intuit account (which I DON'T that I know of). I do it all again, it gives me the "your login info does not match etc." message.

As for "Change your QuickBooks Desktop payment method", I have already done that also (through CAMPs).

I have tried all three suggestions you gave in your reply, and none of it fixed anything. I'm still getting the "Update Credit Card" thing, and it still won't let me login when I try. It's telling me my email and phone number don't match with the name I selected on the previous screen. And it won't let me access my account or billing information under Employees>My Payroll Service>Account/Billing Information.

RE: "Update Credit Card" message

Updating QuickBooks changed nothing.

Still can't make the "Update Credit Card" button go away, still can't access my account/billing info from within QuickBooks ("You've to use the right Intuit account to proceed." and "The email and phone number don't match with the name you selected on the previous page. To resolve this issue, select Contact Us on the top right corner of this page.").

@billastonj

Can you login to your CAMPS as Primary Contact?

Yes. I have no problem logging into CAMPS.

RE: "Update Credit Card" message

Yes. I have no problem logging into CAMPS as Primary Contact. QuickBooks Desktop just won't accept my login information when I try to access my account/billing information from within QuickBooks Desktop when I respond to the red "Update Credit Card" button (it gives me the messages "You've to use the right Intuit account to proceed." and "The email and phone number don't match with the name you selected on the previous page. To resolve this issue, select Contact Us on the top right corner of this page.").

And I even updated my payment information in CAMPS, but the "Update Credit Card" button still won't go away.

RE: "Update Credit Card" message

I can help you fix the prompt that you're encountering after updating your credit card information, @Air Master.

You can follow the steps provided by my colleague above in running the Verify and rebuild tools. Once done, update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release to get the latest features and fixes.

The Verify Data will identify any data issues within your company file. Then, the Rebuild tool will self-resolve it.

Verify data:

  1. Go to File, then Utilities and choose Verify Data.

If it will detect an error, proceed and Rebuild your data:

  1. Go back to the File menu and then Utilities and select Rebuild Data.
  2. Choose OK if you’ll receive a message to back up your company file.
  3. After creating the backup file, the Rebuild Data utility will run automatically.
  4. Click OK when you get the message Rebuild has completed.

To manually update:

  1. Search for QuickBooks Desktop. Right-click the icon and select Run as administrator.
  2. From the No Company Open screen, go to the Help menu and select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  3. Click the Options tab and select Mark All and then choose Save.
  4. Go to the Update Now tab and select the Reset Update checkbox.
  5. Click Get Updates.

You can now restart your computer for the changes to take effect. For detailed guidance, see these articles:

If you need to update your billing info for your payroll subscription, check out the following article on how to do it from your Employee menu: Change your credit card for payroll billing.

Feel free to leave a message if you need further assistance with removing the prompt. I'm always here to help. Take care, and have a good one!

RE: "Update Credit Card" message

This is going in a circle.  Will not let me in to change my credit card information.  I have had a prior

ID, but it was supposed to be deleted over 8 years age and it keeps popping up as my user ID. I think this is

interfering with my going in to change my credit card information.  I have been through it several times and

it keeps coming up with the same "don't match" notice.

RE: "Update Credit Card" message

Going back and forth is never easy, @taxman700. I'm here to ensure you'll get past that prompt.

It's possible that you're having trouble updating your credit card information due to a corrupted company file.

If you haven't done yet, make sure to upload the most recent QuickBooks Desktop version. By doing so, the account is available for any latest fixes and updates. After that, I advise using the Verify and Rebuild Utility Tool to fix any well-known problems with data integrity. I'll show you how:

To verify data:

  1. Open the File menu, then click on Utilities.
  2. Choose Verify Data.

To rebuild data:

  1. Open the File menu and then click on Utilities.
  2. Then, select Rebuild Data.
  3. Click on OK if you’ll receive a message to back up your company file.
  4. Once the backup file is created, the Rebuild Data utility will run automatically.
  5. Hit OK if you get the message Rebuild has completed.

Once done, see these helpful modules to verify if you already have the updated credit card information on file.
