User roles on Enterprise

Hello,

I am trying to figure out how to grant a user access to the Accounting Tools on Enterprise that I myself am able to use - specifically "fix unapplied vendor payments and credits".

I have tried giving her full access, and I have tried giving her Accountant access, and still she cannot use. Is it only the primary Admin on the account that is able to utilize these tools? It doesn't seem like that could be right.

Thank you in advance!

Hello there, @aemqbaccountant. I'm here to share further insights on this to help you decide what user access you need to grant the accountant to manage the rule assigned to a user in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

You need to modify the External Accountant role to be able to access Fix Unapplied Customer Payments and Credits. This way, the user is allowed to do so. I'd be glad to walk you through the process:

  1. Go to the Company tab.
  2. Go to the Company menu.
  3. Select Users, then pick Set Up Users and Roles.
  4. Go to the User List tab.
  5. Highlight the user, then click Edit.
  6. Add the External Accountant from the Available Roles section, then click OK.
  7. Once done, select Close.

I’ve added screenshots for visual reference.

I'm adding this link to learn how to customize the access for different user roles: Create and manage roles in QuickBooks Desktop.

I'm also including this helpful reference in adding, editing, and troubleshooting QuickBooks Desktop Pro and Premier User login and restrictions: QuickBooks Desktop Users and Restrictions

I'll be here if you need further assistance managing your users' permissions in QuickBooks Desktop. It's my priority to ensure you'll get the help you need in performing QuickBooks-related tasks. Keep safe and have a good one.
