What permission controls access to "upload from computer" in the "add bill" dropdown in QBO?

We need some of our people to be able to access "upload from computer" in the add bill dropdown. We don't know what the correct permission is to be able to do this.  Please advise.

What permission controls access to "upload from computer" in the "add bill" dropdown in QBO?

Hello there, Carol.

To enable users to access the "Upload from Computer" option in the "Add Bill" dropdown in QuickBooks Online (QBO), they must have a standard user all access or higher. Then, they can upload attachments to your bills in QBO.

If the issue persists, I can guide you on troubleshooting your browser to ensure it runs with QuickBooks efficiently. Let's start with accessing QuickBooks Online using incognito mode or a private window. Here are the shortcut keys to go private mode in a browser:

For Google Chrome / Microsoft Edge / Opera:
  • Windows: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mac: Command ⌘ + Shift + N
For Firefox:
  • Windows: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Mac: Command ⌘ + Shift + P
For Safari:
  • Shift + Command ⌘ + N

If this works, you can proceed to clear your browser's cache and cookies to clear temporary files running in your browser that have caused the malfunctions. Otherwise, you can also use other supported browsers to ensure it runs QBO efficiently.

If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask!

I have the same questions, however, the employee who needs access to uploading a bill has a role assigned specifically made for her.  So, which category box do I need to edit in order for her to be able to upload a bill and also to upload an attachment to a customer?

You'll want to select Standard all access or a higher role as stated above to achieve it, CHuff01.

The Standard all access and admin roles allow your employee to upload a bill and attachment to a customer. Here are the steps to do it:

1. Click the Gear icon and select  Manage users.
2. Go to the Users tab.
3. Select the user then click Edit under the Action column.
4. Under Roles, select Standard all access or Company admin.

5. Click Save.
