Selecting the last row on the rules list does not select it but scrolls up 1 row

I am cleaning up my rules list. I selected all row on the screen, but when I click on the checkbox of the last one it does not select it but rather scrolls 1 row up leaving now 2 rows unchecked on the screen.

Was this done intentionally?

I got your back, @gerdgoebel.

Let's first make sure to turn off the bank rules feature. Once completed, you can try deleting the remaining bank rules in your QuickBooks company file.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Edit menu.
  2. Choose Preferences.
  3. Select the Checking menu.
  4. From the Company Preferences tab, hover your mouse to the Bank Feeds section.
  5. Remove the check mark for the following tick boxes:
    • Create rules automatically
    • Always ask before creating a rule
  6. Click the Ok button.

Now, you can try removing the rest of your bank rules.

  1. From Banking menu, select Bank Feeds.
  2. Click Bank Feeds Center.
  3. Select Rules in Bank Feeds window.
  4. In the Rules List window, highlight the renaming rule you need to change or delete.
  5. Click Edit Rule or Delete Rule.
  6. Click Yes.

If the issue persists, you can run the Verify and Rebuild Utility tool. This way, we can isolate this issue for possible data damage. You can read through this article for more detailed steps: Resolving Potential Data Issues.

Selecting the last row on the rules list does not select it but scrolls up 1 row

I just wanted to inform you about the odd behavior when trying to select the last row on the screen.

I still was able to delete all the rules that I not longer wanted.

Thanks for getting back to us, @gerdgoebel.

If you already followed the steps shared by my colleague above and the issue persists, I highly suggest contacting our Phone Support team. They have tools such as screen-sharing (remote access) that can pull up your account in a secure environment and check the root cause of this odd behavior. They can also perform other troubleshooting steps that can help fix this for you.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. In QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), go to the Help menu at the top to get to the QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  2. Select Contact Us at the bottom to connect with our live support.

For more information about managing bank rules in QBDT, check out this article: Use renaming rules for Bank Feeds.

Please let me know how it goes or if you have any other issues or concerns. I'll be more than willing to help. Have a great day!
