Buy nowHi and thanks for your help!
I would like to snap receipts using the mobile app for ios. Unfortunately, I do not have that menu icon, both on the shortcuts and all menu's. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app multiple times to no avail.
Could this be an issue with my permissions? Or is it most likely related to the common glitch of the app?
Thanks!
Taking a snap of your receipts is my priority, @ASTBSTN.
I see the importance of accessing the snap option on your end. Know that we appreciate you for taking the time to perform troubleshooting steps to fix it.
Since the issue still persists in your mobile app, I recommend contacting support for they have the complete tools to help you fix your issue.
Here's how:
I'm adding this article to learn more about taking a photo of your receipts while using the mobile app: Snap a photo of your Receipt or Bill on your Mobile Device.
You may also check this reference for a guide on how you'll forward the snapped receipts from your mobile app to QBO: How to Email your Expense Receipts and Bills to Get them into QuickBooks Online?
Do you have more questions about your photographing your receipts or any other tasks in QuickBooks? Let me know in the comments and I'll help you out.
Thank you for taking the time to respond.
Unfortunately, the menu icon for snap receipt is missing in my app. Both in shortcuts and in the full menu of options; there is no snap receipt option.
Is it the app glitch that many have experienced? Or could it be my permissions?
Thanks!
Hi @ASTBSTN,
Thank you for getting back to us about the feature you need in the mobile app. Let me chime in and provide some clarification about snapping a photo using your mobile device.
First, there's a question I want to ask to help determine the cause of the problem. Can you share with us the region and version of your QuickBooks?
Please note that the receipt capture ability is only available in certain regions. It may be the reason why you're not seeing the option on your end.
For your second question, yes, user permissions also affect your access to this feature. If you have Advanced, the All Banking role access is a must to snap and categorize banking transactions.
Once you have access, you can enter, upload, and track expense receipts and bills you capture with your phone. Here's the link you can check for additional guidance on the process: Capture and categorize expense receipts and bills in QuickBooks Online.
Let us know if you still have more questions about adding user roles or anything else by leaving a reply. Take care, and have a great rest of the day!
I am in the USA and using the latest version (23.01.3) of the quickbooks app.
And I believe I have All Banking Access. (I am able to add receipts from quickbooks online)
Thank you
Thank you for the details, ASTBSTN.
Since you're done with all the steps that we can advise from here, especially reinstalling the app, I recommend contacting our QBO Support team. This way, they can use more tools to check your account further.
If you have any other concerns about the mobile app, feel free to go back to this thread. Take care and have a good one!
