trying to email an invoice but it won't connect with my email

Let's work together to troubleshoot the connection issue you're facing when trying to email an invoice, rjohnson2890. This way, you can get back to sending invoices smoothly.

To start, let's ensure that your email account is compatible with your QuickBooks version by checking if you've met the system requirements for QuickBooks Desktop for Mac. See the below details:

 For the minimum system requirements:

  • An operating system of at least Mac OS X v12.0 (Monterey).
  • iOS 12.0 or later for iPhone related features.
  • Supports either Intel or Apple CPU hardware.
  • Internet connection required.
  • Multi-user Server: Intel Core 2 Duo or higher processor to run a server.
  • 2 GB RAM (4 GB RAM recommended).
  • 250 MB of available storage.
  • Macintosh-compatible printer if you plan to print invoices, checks, deposit slips, lists, purchase orders, mailing labels, reports, or graphs.
  • Use Intuit Checks if you plan to print checks.

For the Integration/compatibilty requirements:

  • Export report data - Apple Numbers v12.0 or later, or Microsoft Excel 2016 or later, including Microsoft 365
  • E-mail as PDF - Apple Mail, Microsoft Outlook 2016 or later, including Microsoft 365.
  • File conversion - QuickBooks Mac 2024 supports:
    • One-way conversion to QuickBooks Online
    • One-way conversion from QuickBooks Desktop for Windows 2021 and 2023.
    • Conversion to and from QuickBooks for Windows 2024.

If your system meets these requirements, I recommend updating QuickBooks for Mac to the latest release.

After that, connect your email to QuickBooks. For your visual reference, here's a video that you can check: Send Mail Functionality.

Once everything is set up, you're ready to email forms. To learn more about this, see this resource: Email sales forms, invoices, and statements in QuickBooks Desktop.

trying to email an invoice but it won't connect with my email

Hello @rjohnson2890 , are you using Gmail by any chance for your email provider?  If so, you might want to check the Enhanced Security setup with Gmail.  Below is a link to a support article on this and how to get your email setup to work.  I hope this helps out.
