In order to provide you with the appropriate solution, I need further details about recording card payments. Are you attempting to receive payment from customers and record it as bank charges? Or are you trying to record these card payments as bills or expenses?
Any additional information, such as screenshots, would be much appreciated. Just make sure to filter out any confidential information.
I'll be waiting for your response on this matter and any other QuickBooks-related queries you may have. Stay safe!
Hello
i I am trying to match the transaction from the customer with the payment received from the card company. So there is a remainder amount of the card payment charge. I used to do “add remainder” and then categorise the card payment charge as “bank charges” but today I’m trying to do that and “bank charge” isn’t there as a category anymore
Sorry I meant trying to match the transaction with the invoice
I'd like to help you fix the missing bank charges category in QuickBooks Online (QBO), marfasmutts.
It's possible that the bank charge category was deleted, which is why you're unable to categorize it. However, if you didn't delete it and the issue persists, we can run some basic troubleshooting steps to resolve this. This involves checking if the browser cache is overloaded with frequently accessed page resources, leading to unexpected behavior
Let's access our QBO account in a private browser (incognito window).
I'll also add these articles to help you review your transactions and reconcile your accounts so they always match your bank and credit card statements:

I appreciate the prompt response, marfasmutts.
Since you've said that there's been a problem with the app recently, it could be one of the reasons why you can't see your bank charge account. Let's fix the app and refresh the data on your mobile device.

If the issue persists, you can uninstall and reinstall the app and see if you're still experiencing the same thing.
Also, you'll want to consider opening your QuickBooks Online account in a webpage browser on your device. You can access your account and continually perform your QuickBooks tasks from there.
However, if the issue persists, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Support team. They can further investigate this matter so you can categorize the credit payment and match them with the invoice: To reach them, click this link: QuickBooks Online Support.
Additionally, I'll be sharing these resources that will guide you in matching bank transactions that are already in QuickBooks:

I am onto support again as it seems there are still problems with my app. Someone is calling me again today. Thank you for you help
