Why can't I access the Budgeting section? I get error 404 page not found

I need to create a Budget and on my dashboard, I hit the "tool icon," then scroll to Budgeting. When I click on Budgeting I get the 404 error. Beside the "Budgeting" is a gray arrow pointing up if that helps with identifying my issue. Thank you.

Why can't I access the Budgeting section? I get error 404 page not found

I appreciate you for explaining the error message, wendymorris1013-.

Let me help you get past the error 404 in QuickBooks Online. This way, you can create a budget for your account as soon as possible.

Receiving an error message in QuickBooks is usually the result of outdated or corrupt cache files in your web browser. As an initial step, you can press the F5 key on your keyboard to refresh the page.

If you're still getting the same error, I'd recommend logging in to your account through an incognito window. This way, we can see if it's browser-related. Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Ctrl Shift (Google Chrome)
  • Ctrl Shift (Firefox)
  •  Control Option (Safari)
  •  Ctrl + Shift + P (Microsoft Edge)

Once signed in, go back and access the budgeting section from there. If it works, return to your regular browser and press the CTRL+Shift and Delete keys on your keyboard to clear the cache

Once everything is good, you can now start creating a budget in your account. Make sure the beginning of your fiscal year is set up in QuickBooks. Then run the Profit and Loss Detail report to ensure that the transactions and accounts are correct.

For more information about this matter, check out this article: Create and import budgets into QuickBooks.

Once created, I'd suggest running the Run Budget Overview report or Run Budgets vs. Actuals report. These are special budget reports that help you keep track of your goals.

I've also added an article on how to customize, memorize, print, email, and export reports in your account: Run reports in QuickBooks Online

I look forward to hearing from you soon, wendymorris1013-. Don't hesitate to let me know if you need additional help. Take care always.

Cleared cache in Chrome for the last 4 weeks and still am getting the 404 error.
