Credit card and POS with Destktop 2018

Hello QB friends!   I have been a loyal QB user for our service  business for years.  We finally want to accept credit cards and also do some retail point of sale.  There is so much info out there, but not sure what to do.  Here is my situation.  We want to open an off-site retail and be able to accept POS credit card, cash and check payments.  We would also like to be able to accept credit card for our original service items.  I use QB Pro 2018 currently.  What is my best solution to be able to do both things and have it integrate with QB Desktop?  Can I use Quickbooks Gopayment with Desktop or only QB online?  If I can do it all through QB, that would be great.  I have also looked into Square.  Can Square integrate with Desktop or only online?  So many questions.  Thank you in advance for your advice and opinions!

Credit card and POS with Destktop 2018

We're glad to have you here with us, Sulyvan.

Accepting credit card payments is a big step in running your business. To assist you on how to go about this new journey, I'll provide information on the options you have.

Let me start with QuickBooks Payment, you're able to accept payments in your QuickBooks Desktop account. You'll want to check your options here. After you sign up for QuickBooks Payments, you’ll need to connect your account to QuickBooks. You can check this article on the detailed steps to link them: Link your QuickBooks Payments account to QuickBooks Desktop.

Second, Square integration is also available in QB Desktop, though you'll need to integrate it via Commerce Sync. Learn more about the process here: Commerce Sync and Square.

Lastly, QuickBooks Point of Sale is also available. You can visit the website here. You can sync the payment from the POS to your Desktop account with financial exchange.

I'd love to hear from you if you have additional questions on the options available for you to use.
