How to stop the $16 monthly service fee from merchant services? No one at Merchant Services can seem to tell me what it is for.

I have called several times regarding stopping this fee and it continues to be debited from my account. Several years ago I was told it was for a card reading and swiping a customers card which we have never done. I have asked repeatedly for the charge to be stop and it still continues. Who can I speak to to stop it?

To give you an insight, the credit card issuer, its network, and the payments processor are all involved in charging the processing fees. Hence, QuickBooks can't implement the net amount of an invoice as the charges vary depending on the processor.

Also, the credit card issuer charges the merchant a commission or a fee in processing the card for each transaction. It is why there's a fee on top of the amount.

I couldn't find any reference for a fixed monthly fee of $ 16 related to the merchant service. Make sure the fee is not associated with other service.
