I am not able to pull up my Pay Bills when I click on it under my Vendors tab, any suggestions?

What happens? Do you get an error message?  If not, is the Pay Bills window son the Windows list?

Hello, @asphaltdude.

I appreciate the details you’ve added to get me on the same page. I’d be delighted to provide some troubleshooting steps and ensure you’ll be able to utilize the Pay Bill feature in QuickBooks Desktop.

Beforehand, you’ll want to set up your desktop view in your Preferences as a One Window view. I’d be glad to show you how:

  1. Go to the Edit menu, then choose Preferences
  2. From the Desktop View, go to My Preferences
  3. From there, tic One Window
  4. Click OK to save the changes.

Then, go back to the Pay Bills window. From there, go to the Preferences and toggle it back to Multiple Windows

If you're still unable to pull up your Pay Bills window, I recommend utilizing the Verify and Rebuild Data tool to identify and resolve the most commonly known data issues within your company file. I’ll show you how:

  1. Choose Window, then Close All.
  2. Go to the File menu, and then click Utilities.
  3. Select Rebuild Data.
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions to back up your data.
  5. When the tool finishes, select OK.
  6. Navigate to the File menu, then click Utilities.
  7. Click Verify Data, then select Rebuild Now once QuickBooks finds an issue with your company file.

If you haven’t encountered any error messages, update your QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release to keep your software up-to-date and have the latest features and fixes.

Furthermore, I’d be adding these articles that may come in handy in your future tasks on how to pay your bills from within the QBDT:

That means it's open but out of view / pushed off the edge of the visible QuickBooks desktop.

To reset the size and position of the window to the default, first close all windows (pick Window | Close all from the QB Menu), then while holding down the Shift key pick Pay Bills from the Vendors menu.

Good day, @asphaltdude

Thanks for following the suggested steps that were shared above. Let's try another troubleshooting step so you can access the Pay Bills window back and record your bill payments.

To start,  use the File Doctor to fix company file issues in your company files. Here's how:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Download the most recent version (1.5.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it (like your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop). Note: If you've installed Tool Hub before, you can find out which version you have. Select the Home tab.  The version will be on the bottom.
  3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. When the install finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

Once done, run Quick Fix my File.

  1. From the tool hub, select Company File Issues.
  2. Click Quick Fix my File.
  3. Select OK when it completes and launch your QuickBooks.

If you still can't open your Pay Bills window, move to Step 3 of this article: Fix company file and network issues with QuickBooks File Doctor.

When you've managed to fix the crashing issue, you can start working on your QuickBooks program. If you need help, you can always visit our articles from the general articles list page.

Please keep me posted on your progress in accessing the Pay Bills window. I'm more than happy to lend a helping hand. If you have any other concerns about QuickBooks Desktop, you can share them with us. Take care, and I wish you continued success.
