Can anyone tell me why QB desktop has suddenly showing BUG ISSUES
I have two clients now that have had bug issues where data is not showing up where is should but the data is in the QB in some areas...
Anyone else having this issue??
I'll make sure your client's will be able to access their company data, @DJarz.
You'll want to download our QuickBooks Tool hub and then run the QuickBooks File Doctor tool. This tool fixes issues related to missing or blank file. Let me walk you through how.
After running the tool, restart your computer and check your data again. Learn more about the different tools at this guide: Fix common problems and errors with the QuickBooks Desktop Tool Hub.
If you need help with other tasks in QBDT, you can browse for specific topics here and look for responses that fit your concern.
Let me know if you still have questions or concerns with data. I'll be around to help. Take care and stay safe.
Thank you for this suggestion. We did try that first but still having an issue..
I think QB desktop has a bug... please fix it.
I appreciate all your shots in fixing this hurdle, @DJarz.
Based on the scenario, we’ll have to access your company file to identify the root cause of the issue. This requires us to gather personal data to open an account. We always value the security of your information, so I suggest contacting our Technical Support Team.
Our specialists can perform a screen-sharing session to check why it unexpectedly missed the data. Once the permanent solution is available, our agents will guide you through the steps on how to apply it.
Here’s how to reach them:

Thank you for this resource. One of my clients did have you take her file two different times and "fix" her file. Unfortunately, this file still seems to have an issue. That is why I am saying I think its a deep bug on QB end.
I had another client lose all of her payroll data, employees, rates and such. So there is something within the QB Desktop that is vulnerable to being hacked??? Not sure what is causing the issue but we are a smaller accounting firm and to have 3 of our clients having this issue, seems like a lot.
Is there a conflict with a firewall? or virus protection? Not sure but honestly, we have always trusted the QB desktop version because it usually is not connected to the internet. BUT the newest version is requiring everyone to create an ONLINE account and maybe that is the issue?
My clients choose the desktop version for dependability and security reasons. Please look a little deeper and help us find the resolution.
Thank you
Denise
I'll share some information about the newest version and sort everything out with your clients' data, @DJarz.
After updating QuickBooks to the newest version, everything that was previously in your file will stay in the same place. That said when your clients haven't back up the company file when updating QuickBooks to the latest release and get data loss, they can recover lost data with the QuickBooks Auto Data Recovery feature.
Also, when your clients will set up and use Intuit account, this will serve as the user management tool to associate all the products and services for a company file. This is different from a QuickBooks company file login. Using this will help your clients start back up and help protect files and folders through this account online.
Sometimes, other applications or files on a computer can create bugs with other programs like firewall or antiviruses. You can check this by turning the firewall and antivirus off and then run QuickBooks Desktop to see if it will show the data. Your client can also consult an IT specialist to check it.
If the issue persists, I strongly recommend getting your clients to contact us so that we can see what's causing this issue and able to fix it. Reaching us through chat or call can help us start a conversation and pull up their account in a secure environment.
Thank you for trusting QuickBooks as your choice. If you have other concerns about data recovery, feel free to place them here. I'll keep my notifications open. Take care, Denise!
If more than a couple of users are having this issue than QB Team should address it. It is not our company files. They were fine till you guys said we had to update them with your Bugged Update.
